As you may have already seen, Flaco the Eurasian eagle-owl has passed away. I am sad beyond words. Flaco defied the odds and made quite a life for himself in the city over the past year. Along the way he came to mean so much to so many, including me. ❤️🦉

#Mets Feb.23rd.., Happy 83rd Birthday to Ron Hunt, the Mets first legit all star, runner up for Rookie of the year in 1964 to Pete Rose, a highlight of Shea Stadium’s inaugural year. He drove a tractor trailer truck in the off season in his home town for two years.

#Mets Feb. 23rd…Happy 78th birthday to Ken Boswell, 7 year veteran of the Mets, including the 1969 World Champs.
He worked hard on his defense heading into the 1970 season. culminating in a record 85-game errorless streak & an incredible .996 fielding percentage for the season.

#Mets Feb. 20th… newly acquired Luis Severino turns 30 today. After 2023, he feels that he was tipping breaking pitches with runners on base last season. Severino is feeling a fresh start and a return to his old self in Queens… Here’s hoping he will be a plus in our rotation.
