Please add your name to this petition - it's unbelievable that it's still legal for adults to hit children. Be part of the change that consigns this deeply damaging practice to the history books. https://t.co/qTXMvx2pza (NB it's already banned in sensible Scotland)
Please enjoy these shelter pups reacting to getting a kiss. Some are bashful, some have butterflies, and all deserve approximately 10 million more. 14/10 for all
"Why don't you read the books you already own before buying new books" why don't you eat all the food in the house before going shopping? That's what you sound like. That's how crazy you sound right now
When we started supporting survivors 40 years ago, we hoped we wouldn't be needed in 2024. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
It is highly unlikely that the actual number of instances of domestic abuse in 1983 was 288... 🧵 1/9
Your partner wanting to spend time with you? Normal. Your partner convincing you to spend all of your time with them? Not normal.
If you recognise any of this behaviour and want to talk, reach out to the national domestic abuse helpline.

Pornhub is deleting videos with 'sleep/sleeping' in the title and now sends a warning message about how the content is illegal/nonconsensual when people search for sleeping videos
Thank you to Gisele Pelicot and every woman who's fought to make this world a safer place for women
One thing that's made my blood boil in the Pelicot trial is the part medical misogyny played in allowing the horrors to go on. Gisele went to Drs about gynae issues, memory loss, etc and it was all dismissed as female hysteria or female troubles to just learn to live with.

You, reading this tweet thinking this is nothing to do with you because you don’t commit violence and you’re sure you’ve got no internalised misogyny.
All of it’s connected, you just don’t understand how.
Knowing what to say to someone who is experiencing domestic abuse is complicated. Everyone is different, and there is no one right way to do it.
Share this post to help us raise awareness, and to get people talking. Domestic abuse is not a private matter.
Many survivors do not realise they have experienced sexual abuse until we ask them these questions
There is no shame in being a survivor of sexual assault or rape
If anything in this post has affected you, please reach out for help. You will be believed. You will be listened to
#loveisland starts tomorrow night, and whilst we hope to see a summer of love (and islanders doing silly challenges), we want to make sure that we go into this season knowing what behaviour is toxic, and what is welcome. 🧵
