A mummy to one beautiful 5 month old and a primary school teacher, who loves to laugh, spending time with family and friends, tea, wine, cocktails and cake!

We share the understandable disappointment of #MaternityPetition petitioners such as @Bethanyjade_1 & @BethanyPower__ who have had an amazing impact, and who deserve so much better from the Government than the empty words of Ministers to date.
But we will keep on keepin' on. 💪
@scullyp This statement makes an absolute mockery of all the women campaigning for more support from your government via the #maternitypetition! I’m flabbergasted at the unprofessionalism. You sound like a spoilt school boy retaliating to a playground insult! Absolutely pathetic.
@MaternityAction@Bethanyjade_1 Thank you @MaternityAction, I’m near to end of my 52 weeks of leave, but please let me know what I can do to help fight this campaign! I will not let go until we receive justice for these women and parents! It’s not right at all how the @GOVUK have treated us! #maternitypetition
Did you miss Petitions Committee @HoCpetitions debate on the impact of Coronavirus on maternity and parental leave? Don't worry - watch the recorded session or read the transcript- lots of powerful speeches! @CatMcKinnell

@scullyp@fionaj1985 I'm sorry but that was her choice as she could afford to. Many mums now have no choice. The mental impact of giving up & living in poverty or returning & worrying for your child's MH is not acceptable in 2020. #maternitypetition@DominicRaab we need DHSC not BEIS minister on this
@MaternityAction I get enhanced mat pay employer furloughed me to claim it back but I have to pay my enhanced pay back if I leave (in my contract) surely employer is profiting as will of had it twice? Please help me @MartinSLewis#maternitypetition
"The consequences could last for generations".
Closing our #maternitypetition debate, Chair @CatMcKinnell warned the Government of the risks of failing to support new parents during Covid-19.

@HoCpetitions @CatMcKinnell @CatMcKinnell do you think the Govt understood, we did not campaign for a permanent extension to the maternity entitlement of 3 months extra? It was time limited to just cover pregnancies and births or infancy affected by the Covid-19 restrictions or lockdown! #maternitypetition
Disappointing that the Govt didn't commit to extending paid maternity leave in the UK, following a petition & debate on this issue earlier this week. New parents tell us every day about the struggles they face as a result of COVID-19.
