SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.

The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.

Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.

Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

In Spanish:

Santa Fe (New Mexico) means holy faith

Albuquerque is named after the Spanish Duke of Alburquerque

Nevada means snow

Las Vegas is meadows

Florida is named after La Florida, or the flowery one

Los Angeles is “the angels”

California is actually from Spanish literature but is derived from Khalifa in Arabic, meaning “caliph” or leader. Note the closeness to Caliphate lol

San Diego, San Francisco, San Antonio, are Spanish Catholic saints.

Sacramento means sacrament

Colorado means colored with a red tint

Texas is Tejas, named by Mexicans from the Cado Native American word taysha

El Paso is “the pass” referring to the mountain pass along the Rio Grande (big river)

I could go on…

Trump will stay busy renaming and making the U.S. basic and boring like the food without ethnic spice. Pretty fitting for this administration. 🤡

Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling

“Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word."

"That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person."

"But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”
