@ToryWipeout@BMA_James_Steen Why I do I see them make comparisons to the private sector but they always negate the fact they got an extra 20% in pension contributions vs the average private workplace pension.
To achieve that kind of pension in the private sector it would be more like a 45% contribution
@BruceLeroyRVA@justicenow_alan@KurtSchlichter Yep but the US can’t even build frigates anymore. The UK alone has outpaced the US in that department.
Over the next decade, European + UK yards will probably launch more ships overall than US yards, especially frigates and submarines.
@MeToobirdy@Sobrii_Estote@CrusadingOwl@PoliticoForYou No you don’t. Today’s NI pays for today’s pension it isn’t a savings pot that is paid into it’s a state benefit. You paid for pensioners at the time who took less out of the system.

@WallStreetApes Incorrect he has no criminal record as no charges where brought against him. He was only investigated via a phone call interview with the police after complaints had been made against him.
See link the BBC interview he gave himself back in 2019.

@JoeyMannarinoUS @grok could you please correct this poorly informed yank with how much money the average Brit pays to the government and what % of that goes to migrants.
Make sure to check your facts as I know you like to make numbers up.
This post is deeply misleading. The UK isn’t being “forced” to pay into the EU — it’s voluntarily opting into specific cooperation schemes like Horizon science funding, food safety, and joint migration enforcement.
These are common-sense partnerships with proven benefits, not EU budget contributions.
Let’s not forget: Brexit has already cost the UK ~4% of GDP, shrunk trade, and added red tape. If selective collaboration helps ease that pain — without rejoining the EU — it’s smart policy, not betrayal.
@ccponte72@SBarrettBar No it was Labour who, after their review in Jan 2025, formally withdrew government support and asked the court to lift the super-injunction. The judge officially lifted it in July. So the process was led by Labour.
