So very sad to hear about the loss of Frank Field, who was always such a kind and considerate gentleman, a man who was in politics for a purpose and stood by his principles, fighting for justice and reform. I knew him well and we would often chat about things and usually agree.

I'm very sorry to hear of the death of David Ramsbotham. He was fearless in his fight to improve the treatment of prisoners and to maintain the independence of the inspectorate - a fight he continued in his time in the House of Lords. He will be very much missed.
