Over the past year, we've continued to learn a lot about Multiplayer matchmaking through player data and community feedback. We’re also excited to see all the recent love for Black Ops and Black Ops II, which reinforced that there are many elements of those experiences that players appreciate.

Starting this week with Season 05, we're updating Black Ops Classic, Quick Play, and Party Games in Black Ops 7 with a new matchmaking system inspired by those classic games.

We'll continue to offer Open playlists in Black Ops 7, and we'll also include Open playlist options in the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 Beta. Thanks for your continued feedback as we stay focused on player experiences that go beyond expectations. Jump in and let us know what you think.

📢 Call of Duty: #BlackOps and #BlackOps2 on PS4/PS5

A new update has been deployed following the recent XP progression fixes with additional improvements across both titles, including:
▪️ Public Multiplayer matches will now prioritize PS5 hosts and no longer fall back to PS4 hosts
▪️Additional protections against host migration workarounds
▪️Controller deadzone behavior updated to align with the original PS3 versions

📢 Call of Duty: #BlackOps on PS4/PS5

The first phase of a fix to address an issue impacting player XP has been deployed.

• Playlists have been updated with a server-side fix.
• Players with negative XP have been reset to Level 20 so they can begin progressing again.

Additional mitigations will continue to roll out in future updates to further reduce these issues.

I didn’t realize it felt so refreshing to launch Black Ops 2 because I wasn’t bombarded with a Battle Pass to purchase, paid event tiers, and 7 bundles

I think some people are underestimating how many people will still be playing these ports in 3 months. If people stayed on these games back during the 2013-2018 era what makes you think they won’t stay on them now when CODs reputation is almost the exact same?

PS4 and PS5 players are able to matchmake with one another. There is no cross-platform play with PS3 or other hardware platforms.

Also, Season Pass owners are able to matchmake with non-Season Pass owners in both titles.
