I should say, I took a few liberties with The Horrors & the whale haunting (translation vs original; original is screenshot 3) but considering that the entire novel is about classifying things based on Vibes, I reckon it’s actually very meta, and probably very mentally healthy
I’ve rewritten the first chapter of Moby Dick in insufferable modern idiom and I am not accepting constructive criticism at this time.

@SolidShepard@geostatonary That’s so kind of you! I definitely took some liberties later on with The Horrors and the bit about the whales haunting, but I feel like Melville would be into it
@NeolithicSheep Have you seen some of my tumblr posts on this? They started off normal but got unhinged over the years and now I am a one person Grass Fandom
Honestly I intend to spend the next week making this face while asking people what reality is. “I may owe a little visual inspiration to a post I saw but I owe nothing to anyone, therefore I can sell teletubbies merchandise” AM I THE MAD ONE?
Dear Internet, today I come to you for advice. My question is:
“I created a character design based on a commercial property. People have taken my design without my permission or credit, and are selling merch. What is the funniest possible response to this?”
🧵
@pearnuallak This is exactly it, like the artistic mischief and COMPETITION of setting up a whole provocative Creation while announcing: “I don’t see how you can be mad, I spent years working on this lore”
@NeolithicSheep Right?? I’d steal them and sell knockoffs (made of natural materials) for jokes, but I’m hampered by my aesthetic😔
I think the BBC should do an investigative documentary culminating in asking us both to cease and desist
@Clare_vanBoh “Should I do an art project about how my dream about environmental anxiety and the grief of conservation/humanity’s loss of spiritual connection to nature was lifted and commercialised as a grimdark meme? I think I should, right?”
“Have you tried literally telling the guy”
