#LGBTQWriMo day 6: First I just word vomit into a document until I figure out the beginning, middle, and end. Then I make a Trello board with a card for each scene, and color code them by POV. I also have a list on the board for notes/ideas I don’t want to forget.
#LGBTQWriMo day 4!
Goal for the month: oh I don’t know, get a few more chapters rewritten?
Goal for the week: finish a chapter or at least a scene, please me, I’m begging me. Rewriting is the hardest thing to get my brain to do.
@CortneyRadocaj I’ve had 4 family members and friends be institutionalized. It helped 3 of them but made one incredibly worse. I’ve never been hospitalized, even though I 100% should have been at one point, but I think it probably depends on the place and your specific psyche and needs.
#writers advice on how to come back from form rejection by an #agent you were really truly hoping to work with, after basically working harder on the query and synopsis than you have at anything ever (besides the actual #novel)? 😭 sometimes the #rejection just hits extra hard.
Two things can be true at once. You can be a supporter of trans people, AND HP can have a special place in your childhood. You can love something AND not support its creator. You can engage in media AND be conscious of the shitty parts. Just don’t give JKR any money.
it must really be hard to be cishet and love HP more than trans people.
asking a stranger to forgive for something they already said is unacceptable is something i encounter OFTEN and centers you instead of the real trans lives that are at stake here.
JKR is trash AND she wrote a series that got a lot of people through hard times.
IMO as a trans person, as long as you’re not vocally/financially supporting JKR, watch the movies or read the books. If they’re a comfort to you, you deserve that comfort. Just be mindful of the BS.
Sometimes I’m irritated about how useless my ligaments are, but then I think about how strong my muscles are, and have been my whole life. Holding my entire femur in place, doing jobs that aren’t really theirs. And I’m impressed.
Jesus. I’ve only read Speak from this list but it’s such a good portrayal of the effects of r*pe on a teenager’s psyche. Teenagers are going through this stuff and feeling these things and need to know they’re not alone, that there is help and hope. This is awful.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, alongside The Bluest Eye and a litany of books by and about queer and trans people, cited as pornography in school libraries near Des Moines

It should be illegal for bears to be so cute and cuddly. I just want to hug one (caveat: and live to tel the tale)!!! The EARS!!! I’m personally offended by the knowledge that they could and would eviscerate me with minimal effort. I just want bear hugs 😭
