aaaaaaaaand THAT attitude from the "old guard" of US soccer is why the round of 16 is our ceiling
"who's gonna pay for all this free soccer?" is about the dumbest response to all this that I've seen... not shocked it comes from Alexi Lalas
Btw lalas supporting the current system is basically proof that it doesn’t work. Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic would never have had the money to pay for the American system. So we are stuck with players like Lalas and Pulisic as a result of this exclusion.
If you ever feel under qualified for your dream job just remember that at the age of 38 and the speed of a rock Tim Ream represented Team USA in the country’s biggest World Cup to date and shit down his leg for 90 minutes
Be a dreamer!
A fitting end to the USMNT campaign. Spend weeks watching something we thought was incredible, only to see the same bullshit that plagued every side we have ever fielded. Why not us? Because at our core we are STILL shit.
Walking around Seattle ahead of the USMNT game. Plenty of USMNT jerseys including this custom one IMPEACH kit for Donald Trump.
Trump is at the center of a World Cup controversy, calling Gianni Infantino in hopes of overturning Flo Balogun’s red card suspension. FIFA insists he didn’t have any influence. That hasn’t stopped Trump from taking credit today.
Politics & sports, eh?

Thank you for everything you brought to the game.
Thank you for how you played the game.
Favorite player to ever lace them up.
What a career, thank you Neymar 🥺
By the way, in regard to Balogun, the reason he's being allowed to play against Belgium is because of the VAR infringement and the officials not following the proper procedures. Since the US couldn't file an appeal, FIFA instead applied Article 27, which temporarily pauses the suspension and places Balogun on probation for the next year. That means if he commits a similar offense within that period, the suspended one-match ban will automatically be enforced.
People laugh cause it’s hot dogs, but 18 titles in 19 years is a level of dominance not a single other sport has
You could even argue this is the greatest athletic dynasty ever
The Croatia disallowed goal 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗:
This is the only image that matters. The snicko technology goes off at the exact moment Matanović heads the ball.
So the Croatian player DID touch it, and Mario Pašalić was OFFSIDE. 🇭🇷🚩
It was the correct call.
I want to thank LeBron James and his super agent Rich Paul for taking a meeting with me back in 2018 when I was President of the Lakers and deciding to sign with us. He created a whole new era for the Lakers, including leading us to an NBA Championship in 2020 and all the milestones he surpassed in a Lakers jersey. I’ll always love and be grateful for him and wish him all the best in the next phase of his life, on and off the court!
