One of my roommates in UI was the valedictorian of our set. He was also his secondary school's valedictorian. There were other valedictorian and exceptionally brilliant students in my set as well. Like you said, people are ignorant of the quality of students that UI attracts. They are also ignorant of the sacrifices, diligence, and hard work these student gave to the law program for 5 years, consistently. I am always grateful for the excellent faculty at UI who have consistently maintained the high quality of law education at UI Law without demonizing the grading system.

It's the University of Ibadan ("UI") @UniIbadan. I wouldn't be surprised. It attracts the best of the very best, and the merit-based admissions protocols sustain it. When my set was graduating, we had few First Class students. However, the Year 4 students had more than a dozen First Class students or close. Year 3 students were already clocking 30+ first-class students, the biggest in UI history at that time. I knew some of those students, and they were geniuses in every sense. Two of those 30+ were in my fellowship and volunteered for the Academic Department of my fellowship. UI admits many genuises and are very much invested in bringing out the excellence in their students while providing very rigorous and quality education. I don't doubt the quality of excellence that those 58 posses. Good luck to them, and I wish them great success.
