The National Weather Service has increased the potential severity of the storms coming in tomorrow night. The timeframe for our area is around midnight Sunday to 3am Monday morning.

Nelson County Fire & Rescue will host a car show today. Proceeds will benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children. The event will be held at Nelson County High School on Bloomfield Road from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
It appears there is a huge misconception about tornado sirens. They are not meant to be used as way to receive indoor warning. If you are relying on tornado sirens to be warned indoors, you are putting yourself at risk. You must have a reliable method to get indoor warnings. WEA, Apps, Weather radio, etc. are all far better.

A few strong storms may be possible early this morning, but the bigger threat for severe weather will arrive later tonight and continue into early Wednesday morning.

While our weather has been nice for the last few days, it is getting ready to make a sharp U-turn. While the NWS is still refining their forecast over the next 12-18 hours, it does seem like we will get an accumulating snowfall Monday night into Tuesday. #kywx
Members of Nelson County Fire and Rescue participated in a live burn training exercise on Saturday, February 10. Such exercises allow firefighters to train with live fire in a controlled environment. Nelson County Emergency Management also took part in the training. #trainingday
At 1200 today, 19 Jan 23, the Nelson County Civic Center located at 321 S. 3rd Street Bardstown, was reopened in a limited capacity as a warming center. It will remain open through Saturday. We will reevaluate the situation again tomorrow afternoon. #kywx
