When my youngest daughter, Luna, was 6 years old, she jumped at the idea of driving an RV from Colorado to California to shelter a family who lost their home in the 2018 Camp Fire. In a lot of ways, I was just tagging along.
Seven years later — and after sheltering more than 300 families across the United States — here we are. She’s grown up doing this good work… and along the way, I guess I grew up a lot too.
See the latest chapter in our journey in the documentary film Humble River… it’s not over, premiering Oct. 15 in Denver.

From the beginning we made a promise to provide RVs that are safe and move-in ready to the displaced families we serve. See how Mr. Lane feels about the RV we gifted to him after his home burned down in the Brantley County wildfire.

This is Timothy’s story and it is now live on our YouTube channel. Watch how EmergencyRV brought safe shelter to this Vietnam veteran who lost his home to Hurricane Helene. His place was unlivable with no safe place to stay. The day after Christmas, EmergencyRV delivered an RV donated by another Vietnam veteran to become his new home.

The Georgia wildfire community is showing up for its own in powerful ways. Neighbors donated essential household items to families living in EmergencyRVs in Brantley County, helping them feel at home.
We are grateful to Rhonda Barlow, Joy Cook, Emelia Stambaugh, Pam Prescott, Patty Parkinson, MariLynn Boerema, and the First Presbyterian Church in Darien for their generosity.
Please share this post and help us reach more people who want to be part of this mission. One share could connect a family with the support they need or a generous donor with an opportunity to make a difference.
Thank you to everyone giving so generously to these families. We are so close to our goal! If you’d like to help directly, you can donate to our Georgia survivors here:

Today we delivered an RV to Dennis, an Air Force veteran who lost his home in the Brantley fire. This moment was made possible by so many hands working behind the scenes, including Johnny with J.Brew RV Repair, who has been doing an incredible job inspecting and repairing the RVs so they are ready for the survivors who need them most.
If you want to help right now, you can donate directly to support our Georgia survivors: https://t.co/sSoSsfR610
Unfortunately we recieve house fire support requests regularly and while those are truly tragic events, we are solely focused on families impacted by natural disasters. That said if @1RICKYSPANISH can find a local Alaska RV donor interested in donating their RV we would be happy to process the tax donation paperwork for the donor and the impacted family would receive the rv donation.
Before his EmergencyRV arrived Mr. Lane, an Army Vet, spent nights in his truck and days in a friend's camper. Yesterday he was our 12th Brantley County recipient and he says the kindness and love he has witnessed from this community is unlike anything he has ever seen. We feel that too. 🙏
Disaster survivors can apply for an EmergencyRV in minutes at https://t.co/p3glRuan4E. We are here for you.

Memorial Day is for remembering the men and women who gave their lives and their service so that the rest of us could live freely. It is a day to say the names of those we have lost.
Today we say the name of Mr. Hughes.
A WWII U.S. Army Veteran who carried the weight of his service quietly and with dignity for his entire life. When Hurricane Helene took his home in Yankeetown, Florida, EmergencyRV had the honor of showing up for him. A man who had already given everything for this country deserved to have someone show up when he needed it most.
Mr. Hughes has since passed, but his memory is exactly what this day is for. He is the reason we prioritize veterans above all else.
Rest easy, sir. Your service was not forgotten. Your life was not forgotten. You are remembered today and every day. #memorialday #emergencyrv #hopeafterdisaster

Today our friends at I-95 Toyota rallied a convoy of volunteers (Kevin, Mark, Tanya and Paul) and drove from Brunswick to Ocala and back to Kingsland. Those RVs will be stocked, prepped, and gifted to five wildfire families as a place to call home while they rebuild. Incredible people helping people. Neighbors showing up for neighbors. We are so grateful for every single one of them.

Amber lost her spouse near Christmas and then the Georgia wildfires took her home. She is a medical professional caring for others and raising a 12 year old son through all of it. Things have been tough for them, but today they have an EmergencyRV and a safe place to rebuild. #EmergencyRV #hopeafterdisaster
