@jt_gonz24 @HopeLeadLearn@drlangraad Developing identities in the classroom can lead to higher learner because students gain more respect for themselves and the differences amongst others. They can learn to appreciate what they have to offer and use those skills to better their education!
@jt_gonz24 @HopeLeadLearn@drlangraad Agreed. We need to be thinking about where students are at mentally. We can’t assume that they can put aside their home life when at school. They need to learn how to deal with it in a healthy way and develop their own unique identity, so that they are more motivated to LEARN!
@_sgalvin_ Hi Sarah! I really love these words you have shared! I am currently in my undergrad for elementary ed at MSU, and I was wondering if you could go further in explaining the symptoms vs. causes of inequitable attainment and how you might overcome these deficits in the system?
@AlphonsoDavid As a future educator, I was curious if you had any input on how to talk about this topic with students of younger ages in order for them to have a good understanding of HIV/AIDS and not develop a stigma towards it?
@missabbyg1@DrazinMatthew Hey Abby! I agree with what you said about the importance of change because it is very easy to stick to the “traditional” way of doing things, but I think schools can benefit so much more by going out of their comfort zone to try new innovative ideas #PSTPLN#cep416
@DrazinMatthew A5) I will be looking for a welcoming atmosphere among my colleagues within the district. Also, I want to have the people above me to be accepting of new ideas for my students that allow me to push them to their fullest potential. #PSTPLN#cep416
@kaat_katrina@DrazinMatthew Hi Katrina! I agree with all of the above that you said. I think it is important to have a welcoming atmosphere in the district you’re teaching in so that I will feel comfortable teaching in the style I want to without judgement #PSTPLN#cep416
@MichelleStamm7 @DrazinMatthew Hey Michelle! I agree that your level of interaction is important because I think a lot of the time, people want to be involved but they don't know how. Yet, just by liking and replying to pages is the best first step to becoming more engaged in your PLN #PSTPLN#cep416
@LareauSam@DrazinMatthew Hey there Sam, you are definitely right about the significance of a student's personal needs because every student is different and learns in their own way, as well as their own pace. #PSTPLN#cep416
@RachelMG97@DrazinMatthew Hey there Rachel, I like what you said about keeping the conversation going because I think that is the best way to really get in depth with certain topics. If we keep talking, we can discover so much more! #PSTPLN#cep416
@StephanieMajes8 @DrazinMatthew Hi Stephanie, I agree with you that it is best to use a variety of teaching methods in the classroom. That way all students can benefit in one way or another. I hope to keep UDL in mind when doing this, as well! #PSTPLN#cep416
@JewelTayler@DrazinMatthew Hi Jewel, I agree with you that problem solving is a skill everyone needs to know, especially for higher education. That is why I think learning the process behind it is something to be stressed in elementary school #PSTPLN#cep416
@RyanSnell15@DrazinMatthew Hey Ryan! I like your input on problem solving. It is not enough to tell kids to just figure out the answer on their own, but by showing them how to figure it out, in more ways than one, can help so much in the future #PSTPLN#cep416
@misstuthill @LCep416 @DrazinMatthew I feel like blogs would be a super helpful resource because you get to learn about stories from teachers in a more personalized way. Do you have any recommendations of blogs to look into? #PSTPLN#cep416
@alyssa_werner8@DrazinMatthew I have never used Pinterest before for a teaching social media resource, but I think I will definitely have to try it out because I feel like there would be so many creative ideas! #PSTPLN#cep416
A4) Although I am new to the teaching social media world, I think right now I am most comfortable with Instagram, but I feel like the more I use Twitter the more I will like it since there are so many ways to reach out to people and connect to more info!! #PSTPLN#cep416
A3) The role of problem solving is huge and I definitely want to stress that with my future students by giving them enough time to figure out concepts on their own, instead of me just feeding them answers. This is something they’ll use their whole life! #PSTPLN#cep416
