@MCep416@MollyMc73637899@DrazinMatthew Good point! Something else that I think twitter is really useful for is showing you things that you aren't necessarily "looking for." It pulls from similar conversations/searches and can allow for more idea flow! #cep416#PSTPLN
@misslandryshort Agreed! Feeling comfortable exchanging ideas and hearing constructive criticism from those around you and knowing you all want the best for the students is crucial.
@kaat_katrina@DrazinMatthew Definitely! Being able to know that you have people who want the best for you and your students really helps when making on-the-spot choices in the classroom or trying new things without fear of the teachers and administration around you.
@DrazinMatthew A5: I will be looking for a school that allows different ideas and adapts with the changing times in terms of teaching styles and education plans. I would like to consider what kind attention the school/district gives to the arts, as that's important to me. #PSTPLN#cep416
@cecaroliena I hadn't thought about LinkedIn for a teaching tool! That's another great place like twitter to find articles and activities based on friends or other experiences. It also connects you to the person which makes it easier for asking questions! #PSTPLN#cep416
@DrazinMatthew A4: My favorites are pinterest and instagram. I like these because on pinterest they show you a variety of things depending on what you search for, and instagram is a good place for video and photo evidence of classroom activities. #PSTPLN#cep416
@MCep416@DrazinMatthew I like that you're bringing up the importance of teachers giving feedback, and I think even that needs to be presented in different ways depending on the individual. If you are not delivering it in a way that the student can understand, it does no use! Great point.#PSTPLN#cep416
@DrazinMatthew A1: I'm a Junior at MSU. By looking at students as individuals rather than one whole classroom, you can get to know each student as their own learner. Considering their personal needs and trying to channel those is crucial. #PSTPLN#cep416
@MissKatieBuhler @SFecich These are really good ideas, Thank you for mentioning these! Finding a way to somewhat compromise with students while holding your ground encourages them to be more motivated with things that "don't interest them," especially related to reading. #PSTPLN#cep416
@DrazinMatthew A3: Problem solving is important outside of the classroom and students have an advantage if they work on things like communication skills and teamwork in k-12 school. This is a great place for them to establish these skills and allows for reflection in the class. #PSTPLN#cep416
@kamme087 This is a really good comment! Giving the students the opportunity to determine what learning styles work best for them is something that a teacher needs to consider with lesson planning. Variety is so important and reaches students in different ways! #PSTPLN#cep416
@alyssa_werner8@ms_megans_class@DrazinMatthew This is so important and I love that you are encouraging students to problem solve together! Community building is so important in life and it's crucial for teachers to encourage teamwork within an academic setting to get them started. #PSTPLN#cep416
@DrazinMatthew A2: Find out when local discussions or meetings are going on, which can be posted places like coffee shops or libraries. Knowing how to get involved is the first step, and you should take advantage of the people around you willing to help! #PSTPLN#cep416
@ThomsenAlaina#PSTPLN#cep416 Group discussion can go a long way, especially in encouraging shy students to feel more comfortable getting involved and sharing their ideas in a less intimidating setting. This also helps with breaking up the lesson and helps with attention of the learners.
@BerndtCortney#PSTPLN#cep416 Art is really an amazing way to enrich a learner's comprehension of lessons! Something really important is remembering that "art" extends to things like dance and singing, too. This can make things like math lessons or water cycles easier to understand.
