17 YEAR OLD GIRL REPEATEDLY RAPED BY FOUR AFGHAN NATIONALS AFTER BEING GROOMED ON SNAPCHAT AND LURED FROM HOME

A 17 year old girl from Somerset was groomed on Snapchat by 21 year old Afghan national Mehrab Safi who asked her for nude images before arranging to meet her while she was Christmas shopping in Bristol.

She was lured from her home in the early hours of November 30 2026 by taxi to an industrial estate then taken to a house in St Werburghs where she was plied with vodka and cigarettes.

Over several hours the girl was allegedly raped repeatedly by Safi and three others 19 year old Afghan nationals Awal Ahmadzai and Salman Habibkheil plus a 16 year old boy all of whom took turns in separate bedrooms despite her repeated refusals.

Prosecutors told Bristol Crown Court the victim was isolated in an unfamiliar city and believed she was visiting a boyfriend only to be abused for hours before the group fled the UK in the back of a lorry three days later.

French authorities caught them in Calais and returned the men under a gentlemen's agreement with mobile phone footage showing them celebrating their escape.

The four who all deny the charges including human trafficking rape and assault by penetration appeared at Bristol Crown Court where the trial is expected to last up to three weeks.

Police were alerted by the girls mother after she returned home and gave a full account with the defendants phones later revealing searches for Bristol news and images of sexual activity with teenage girls.
