@autistic_hannah I got my autism diagnosis a week after you! I was in a similar position of denial and disbelief, lots to learn and unlearn but I found listening to other autistic people helped me with understanding and acceptance so much! I love the squarepeg podcast for that reason 😊
@huwtjenkins gave an excellent talk on his and @EmilyA_Thompson’s adventures doing microED on the @YSBL_York Glacios. I notice he couldn’t resist putting in the density from his SPA map that current holds the current York resolution record! #BCA22
This #InternationalWomensDay we're going to talk about trans women in history. We've turned replies off, because we know some people would prefer these stories to be erased and silenced.
For anyone who like to read more about our collaboration studying this σ-alkane complex, here is a link to the advanced article😊

Top secret processing notes for our recently solved σ-alkane #microED/#3DED structure have been released!
We utilised a few tricks to solve this structure, the details and the reasoning for this have been nicely explained by @huwtjenkins
@huwtjenkins has also released his 3DED/microED auto-processing script...
As one of the two users of this script, I can vouch that it has saved me many, many hours and I find it to be excellent!
Our on-grid single-crystal to single-crystal microED sigma alkane complex paper is now an Advance Article in @DaltonTrans. Great work @LaurenceDoyle13@huwtjenkins@EmilyA_Thompson @MacgregorHWU . Soon also to be fully open access.

@JNB_lab@thermosciEMSpec We've come a long way since our first EPU-D training session back in April last year... The Glacios has really transformed the way we're able to collect electron diffraction data so it's great to have this instrument in house!
Ridiculously excited to share the first publication to come out of my PhD!
Myself and @huwtjenkins solved the structure of a challenging sigma-alkane complex using #microED, following an on grid hydrogenation

I thought the first data from our @thermosciEMSpec Glacios would be a protein structure but actually it's microED! The microscope imaged its first sample in March last year so this is a fantastic turnaround from microscope acceptance tests to journal acceptance tests
