Today is a big day for me — I’m heading out for a new rheumatologist appointment. 🩺 Hopefully this is one step closer to getting some answers!

Doctors have a saying: “When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.” 🐴

But those of us living with chronic illness have learned something important…

Sometimes, it really IS a zebra. 🦓

When doctors only look for the most common explanation, patients can end up with wrong diagnoses, missed diagnoses, and years of waiting for answers.

So today, I’m taking my little zebra with me and hoping this doctor is willing to look a little deeper, listen a little closer, and consider the possibilities. 💜

Wish me some good doctor luck! 🤞🦓

Today feels a little heavier.

We lost Tim Curry at the age of 80, and honestly… what a legacy he leaves behind. 🖤

For generations, Tim Curry wasn't simply an actor. He was Frank-N-Furter, Pennywise, Wadsworth, and so many other unforgettable characters. He had that rare ability to walk onto a screen and completely OWN it.

For those of us who grew up loving The Rocky Horror Picture Show, he taught us that being strange was okay. Being dramatic was okay. Being different was okay. And sometimes, the weirdest people in the room are the ones who make the biggest impact. 🖤

From Rocky Horror to IT, Clue, Home Alone 2, Annie, and countless stage, television, and voice roles, Tim Curry gave us decades of unforgettable performances.

But Frank-N-Furter will always hold a special place in the hearts of so many of us.

So tonight, somewhere out there, I hope the music is playing, the lights are low, the fishnets are fabulous, and the party never ends. 🖤🥀

Thank you, Tim Curry, for giving the weird kids a little more courage to be exactly who they were.

🌸✨ WELL, DOLLY… I GUESS THE HEAVENS NEEDED A LITTLE MORE SPARKLE. ✨🌸

Today hurts. 💔

Because Dolly Parton wasn’t just a country singer with big hair, rhinestones, and a wardrobe that could probably be seen from space. 😂✨

For so many of us little girls growing up, Dolly was a role model before we even knew the words “role model.” She showed us that you could be feminine AND strong. Sweet AND sassy. Beautiful AND brilliant. You could work your tail off, dream bigger than your little hometown, make something of yourself, and STILL remember where you came from. 💕🌻

She taught us that being kind wasn’t weakness. That giving back mattered. That you could laugh at yourself. That you didn't have to shrink yourself to make somebody else comfortable.

And honey… that SPARKLE? 💎
She wore it proudly.
She owned it.
She never apologized for it.

Honestly, Dolly was the kind of woman who made little girls think, “Well, maybe I can be anything I want to be when I grow up.” 👑💗

And now that little girl in me is sitting here thinking, “Damn, Dolly… who’s gonna tell us how to do this without you?” 😭😂💕

So today, I’m not just mourning a music legend.

I’m honoring a mentor, an icon, a role model, a storyteller, a dreamer, a giver, and one hell of a woman. 🌸
