Of the ~10 reported 2026 cases of Black Americans found hanging (plus 2025 ones cited), official rulings show the vast majority as suicides with no foul play evidence. Only Tasia Fortune’s death was ruled a homicide; the charged suspect is a Black man. No white suspects identified in any case.
