A milestone moment in medicine! The @US_FDA's approval of gene therapies for sickle cell disease is a testament to the incredible research happening in academic medical centers. While this brings hope, we must address equity concerns to ensure every patient benefits.
@MedFitBlondie Celcius packs a nice 200mg caffeine & they have carbonated and non-carbonated flavors! Even have a few without artificial sweeteners and sweetened with stevia, grapefruit is 🔥

This post is not intended to glorify the struggle, by any means, as medical education remains far too inaccessible, but to thank the people that made this journey possible! 🫶 (4/4)
It's hard to articulate how much gratitude I have for the family, friends, peers, and mentors who have supported me, inspired me, and encouraged me. I could not do this alone (1/4)
I’ve had wonderful mentors & so many people who believed in me when I lacked the self-confidence to believe in myself. Even at my lowest points, the sky was continually the limit. (3/4)
A must-watch for anyone considering medicine and everyone in medicine.
More than “a bit of inspiration.”
Inspiration on steroids.🤩
T/Y @RanaAwdish for showing us that the light ahead, even if we can only see a few feet into the future, is a place to bravely go. 🥰

@PonziniF Also- when reviewing, I asked myself “why did I get this wrong” each Q to help identify if it was knowledge gaps or test taking strategy. Also helped me stay engaged. Good luck!!
@PonziniF This happened to me as well! I think it’s a combination of UW is a difficult Q bank at baseline plus the contribution of study fatigue. I would take a break or a light day to reset and try your best to #TrustTheProcess as cliched as it sounds
Celebrating a Sweet Sixteen, pulling in to the wrong driveway, ringing a doorbell to pick up your younger brother.. so many young lives needlessly lost to #gunviolence#RalphYarl
Beyond thankful to match at my top choice and train at @UMInternalMed for the next 3 years, serve the Baltimore community, and take on this next chapter with my best friend. 6 years of distance later, it’s time to pursue our dreams together ❤️💛🖤 #Match2023
The medical community treats sickle cell pain as a hematologic problem, while often overlooking the neurologic, psychological, and social aspects of chronic pain. https://t.co/VdonFXiAwm
Med students: Hold the hand of the patient who needs you. Trust your instincts, even when those around you don't respond in the same way or understand.
Hold onto your empathy with both hands.
I had the privilege & opportunity of interviewing with programs associated with more *prestige*, but ultimately determined I’d be happiest with my partner at UMD. Taboo to discuss & hoping to increase the dialogue that this is such a multifaceted, personal decision #Match2023
Full transparency: I struggled ranking my top 3 programs, which is a testament to the great culture and clinical training. I’m thankful for my mentors and peers who encouraged me to prioritize not just my professional career or prestige, but my entire identity beyond medicine
