Personal news! Matt and I did a thing the other day, and we sat down with the @washingtonpost to talk about how it happened! Some stories just have to be shared... https://t.co/8OPXQAbp5j
Today, the House passed @RepLangworthy’s Reliable Federal Infrastructure Act, ending the mandate to phase out reliable energy sources for federal buildings and military installations.
@HouseGOP is making sure our government is using the best energy available to deliver for the American People.

The American Gas Association applauds the bipartisan passage of @RepLangworthy's Reliable Federal Infrastructure Act through the U.S. House of Representatives on today. The bill repeals Section 433 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 which, as interpreted by the Biden Administration, would have banned on-site natural gas use from all new and renovated federal buildings beginning in 2030.
Natural gas fuels national security in our federal buildings, and is crucial for safe, reliable, affordable and efficient energy across the country. Read the press release today: https://t.co/KOrKNqHOH1
Energy security is national security, and America's current energy advantage is neither accidental nor guaranteed.
When U.S. forces entered Iraq in 2003, we were heavily dependent on foreign energy. Energy vulnerability was a strategic liability.
Today, the U.S. is the world's largest producer and exporter of natural gas, a transformation that has fundamentally altered our economic and geopolitical position and insulated our natural gas prices. To maintain our advantage, we must continue to invest in that system and allow infrastructure to grow with demand to protect our advantage and energy affordability for American families. That means permitting reform.

📣Natural gas is America's strategic advantage - what we need is infrastructure to move molecules and electrons around. More on the need for bipartisan permitting reform from @aga_naturalgas's @karenaharbert below.⬇️
Breaking news this morning after Donald Trump imposed a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. Karen Harbert of the American Gas Association joined The Sunday Briefing to discuss how this move impacts the U.S. economy and global energy volatility.
Even as the conflict in Iran continues to disrupt energy flows through and from the Middle East, America’s robust domestic energy supplies, storage infrastructure and extensive natural gas delivery system have insulated domestic markets from the international supply constraints and protected American families and businesses from price spikes. "Energy security is national security. America’s robust domestic energy resources are our strategic advantage in maintaining economic security and conflict readiness." - @KarenAHarbert, AGA President and CEO
🚨 New Study 🚨 The Center for Strategic and International Studies projects that, under several mobilization scenarios analyzed, energy demand for defense-critical materials could increase two to sixfold during the course of a conflict. To meet these needs reliably, energy dominance and defense readiness must be linked to ensure reliable energy access and to realize the full power of American industry. Permitting reform is the key to ensuring Americans have access to the affordable energy they want and expect. America has a huge competitive advantage in our vast domestic energy supplies, and we need commit to building essential infrastructure to meet the demand growth that's fueling America’s future.

This is a strawman: No one is saying renewables can't play a role in AI. All credible analyses to date show they will. But the simple fact is that the market needs and is actively selecting natural gas to generate more grid electrons or on-site power for large-scale data centers
