قال تحليل نشرته مجلة "ذا ناشيونال إنترست" للكاتبة إميلي ميليكن، إنّه "مع تعرض إيران وشبكتها الإقليمية لضغوط متزايدة، بدأت العلاقة المتنامية بين الحوثيين في اليمن وحركة الشباب الصومالية تبرز كمؤشر تحذيري على تطور أوسع؛ إذ قد تلجأ الجماعات المسلحة في الشرق الأوسط والقرن الأفريقي إلى التكيّف إذا لم تعد طهران قادرة على دعم وكلائها كما في السابق."

وأضاف التحليل أن "الحوثيين، المدعومين من إيران، يعمدون إلى تعميق علاقاتهم مع حركة الشباب، فرع تنظيم القاعدة في الصومال، بطرق قد تُسهم في زعزعة استقرار القرن الأفريقي بشكل دائم، وتزيد من تهديد أحد أهم الممرات البحرية في العالم. والأهم من ذلك أن هذا التقارب قد يعكس تحولًا أوسع داخل ما يُعرف بـ“محور المقاومة” الذي تقوده إيران."

وأشار التحليل إلى أن "تقارير حديثة تشير إلى صورة مقلقة؛ إذ أفادت مصادر لفريق خبراء الأمم المتحدة المعني باليمن بأن عشرات من مقاتلي حركة الشباب، بينهم قادة بارزون، سافروا إلى اليمن، لا سيما إلى محافظتي شبوة ومأرب، ويعملون على تسهيل شبكات تهريب الأسلحة والمخدرات من اليمن إلى الصومال."

ولفت التحليل إلى أنّه "يُعتقد أن عناصر حوثية قد تكون موجودة داخل الصومال، حيث تقوم بتدريب مقاتلي حركة الشباب على حرب الطائرات المسيّرة والمتفجرات وأساليب القتال غير التقليدية، التي اكتسبها الحوثيون عبر سنوات من التدريب على يد مستشارين إيرانيين ومن حزب الله."

ويرى التحليل أنّه "بالنسبة للحوثيين، توفر العلاقات مع شبكات التهريب والجماعات المسلحة الصومالية فرصًا للنفوذ عبر خليج عدن، حيث يسمح تنويع الشراكات للحوثيين بتقليل الاعتماد على طهران، وتوسيع نطاق عملياتهم نحو عمق المحيط الهندي الغربي. أما بالنسبة لحركة الشباب، فإن الشراكة مع الحوثيين تعني الوصول إلى أنظمة تسليح أكثر تطورًا، وخبرات في استخدام الطائرات المسيّرة، وقدرات بحرية، إضافة إلى تعزيز حضورها الإقليمي."

وخلُص التحليل إلى أن "هذا التقارب يعكس تحولًا في طبيعة شبكة “محور المقاومة”، حيث تتجه الجماعات المسلحة نحو مزيد من الاستقلالية والبراغماتية، ما قد يؤدي إلى ظهور بيئة أمنية أكثر تعقيدًا وتفككًا وأقل قابلية للتنبؤ في المنطقة.
