@DrJaneLS The missing part here is the recognition of this importance and honouring that if @CityofAdelaide is genuine about reconciliation. Because the argument it means this in English is just a colonising perspective.
@DrJaneLS I’ve course English words have a meaning beyond what they mean to First Nations people because of colonalisation. There are many words that are important to community that have previous and new meaning - like ‘mob’, ‘deadly’ just like the LGBTQI community with gay and queer.
@DrJaneLS the new City Yarns campaign is a deep disappointment and embarrassment. Co-opting an important and widely used First Nations word for story telling, with no reference to its importance to mob or First Nations voices in the campaign. Really? @CityofAdelaide do better
