@MarcWeinbergWX I live near Shelby Park and have witnessed all of the above, plus drivers raging their cars onto sidewalks to pass other cars waiting in traffic. Louisville drivers are not known for their patience but this shutdown is pushing the limits of this town's fragile sanity.
We live in a LARP society. All of their body language, mannerisms - the childlike thrill of getting to aimlessly yell "MOVE MOVE MOVE" like a Call of Duty NPC - have been laser-ingrained into their brains from decades of FPSs + action movies where they're all the main character.
BREAKING: Millionaire big game hunter Ernie Dosio was trampled to death by five elephants while hunting a rare antelope in central Africa. A classic case of fucking around and finding out! Go elephants! 🐘
⛪️ 🤲 Hegseth Recites Pulp Fiction Monologue as Pentagon Prayer, Pope Appears to Respond
🔸War Secretary Pete Hegseth recited lines lifted near-verbatim from Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction during a Pentagon worship service Wednesday, presenting them as a military prayer to bless the U.S. war against Iran.
🔸Hegseth introduced the prayer as “CSAR 25:17” — Combat Search and Rescue — saying it had been recited by pilots ahead of missions, including the rescue of U.S. airmen shot down over Iran.
🔸The text closely mirrors the monologue delivered by Samuel L. Jackson’s character hitman Jules Winnfield in the film, in which he falsely attributes the words to Ezekiel 25:17 before shooting an unarmed man.
🔸Hegseth told attendees that what they hear in the worship service “should impact the policy and military decisions” they make. “May what we talk about, how we worship today inform the remainder of our day.”
🔸This morning, Pope Leo XIV appeared to respond on X, while on his Apostolic Journey in Cameroon: “Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.”
🔸The episode landed amid an ongoing public clash between the Trump administration and the Vatican, which escalated Sunday when Trump attacked Pope Leo XIV in a Truth Social post and later posted an image of himself as Jesus Christ the healer.
On Monday the Trump admin will launch the tariff refund system for the $166 billion in tariffs they illegally collected.
And all of that money will go to companies.
56,497 importers are set to get refunds so far, with no requirement they pass that money along to customers.
This is insane. 59 million family caregivers provided 49.5 billion hours of unpaid care in a single year, with a total value of $1.01 trillion, according to the AARP. These Americans carry our system on their backs, but their labor is uncompensated and treated as invisible.

Joe Kent, a special forces vet who lost his wife to ISIS in Syria after military leadership sabotaged US withdrawal, is the one Trump natsec official with the courage of his convictions
Kent, who ran for Congress to "make peace non-partisan," explicitly blames Israel for manufacturing the war in which his wife, Shannon, was killed, and for doing the same in Iran
He appeals to Trump to "reflect on what we are doing in Iran, and who we are doing it for" – a clear reference to Israeli control over the administration
I know many admin insiders feel the same as Kent, but are too intimidated by Trump and the dark forces driving this war
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
In the past week we have been contacted by at least three fighter pilots wanting to begin Conscientious Objector packets, across two branches of service.
