Reading Minsky this morning left me thinking about a fundamental question: Is human dignity something we construct, or something we receive? https://t.co/P4rGPf38F3
My article recommends how to implement pacing the frontier: You have to increase friction in organizational processes, and evaluators need something to evaluate. Requiring training and testing infrastructure to be air-gapped will protect model training from tampering, protect the public from rogue models during testing, and pace development, keeping #AI from recursive self-improvement and humans from losing control.

One thing I keep seeing in discussions about open-weight AI models is people arguing that open weights let the community “find and fix vulnerabilities.”
This is not accurate.
Open weights let researchers identify failure modes and vulnerabilities. But unlike open-source software, the community can’t patch the released model. Only the developer can issue a new version—and anyone who already downloaded the original model still has it.
You cannot import the same arguments from open-source software (code) into the debate over open weights (floating-point numbers).
Today, the MFA hosted the first EU 🇪🇺‑US 🇺🇸 Emerging Leaders delegation dedicated to cybersecurity cooperation in Tallinn.
Secretary‑General @vseviov commenced the visit with a briefing on Estonia’s security and foreign policy priorities. Ambassador‑at‑large for cyber diplomacy @H_Popp followed with an overview on Estonia’s cyber and digital foreign policy.
Against the backdrop of rapid technological and cyber developments, Estonia and the United States remain steadfast partners, working together to strengthen resilience and uphold a secure and reliable cyber space.

CSIS just launched the Commission on Cyber Force Generation—focused on how to build a cyber force and what it would look like, not just whether we need one. Vital planning for future readiness. Proud to support this effort.

Deterrence fails to restrain cyberattacks due to cyberspace's ambiguity and the lack of clear norms. Sanctions and diplomacy fall short, David Edelman argues in his book ‘Rethinking Cyber Warfare’. @Madam_Strategy reviews it for @bindinghook https://t.co/URMngrnlGd

If you haven't seen this speech by @KTmBoyle make sure you do. If you have seen it a year ago in person (like me), watch it again. Never has someone argued so well what matters right now.
