@saintant@journolj@rluthersmith@gill1109@reasonoverfear You haven't provided a documented account. You've just shared the deb roberts approved crib sheet for bullshitters. Might as well have been typed in comic sans.
"Air in feeding tube blocks blood supply"
"Our daughter has been to hell and back since July - Can you imagine what it is like to know that colleagues are calling you a murderer. She has frequently said to us during the last 6 months 'I wouldn't hurt anything let alone a tiny baby'."

@StickMan10621@Emilyjbronte@Overlordmainst1@BreakellWe60182 Her concern is very selective. A consequence of blaming Ms Letby is to obscure the poor care that was acceptable at CoCH, and learn wrong lessons from wrong assumptions that could be counterproductive. @Thirlwall_Inq has hopefully started to appreciate this
Channel 5's new Jeremy Bamber documentary highlights what could be Britain's longest running Miscarriage of Justice.
Although the two cases are different in every other regard, there is one pivotal similarity with Lucy Letby. 🧵(1/7)

@Overlordmainst1@BreakellWe60182 As someone who has buried a child, I find Wendy's apparent fascination with bereaved parents deeply uncomfortable. Losing a child is a lifelong grief, not a topic for obsession, speculation or using to bolster an argument. It deserves sensitivity, not exploitation.
@YouAreLobbyLud@edwardhenry1 With exceptions (of course Edward Henry is one) , the entire legal system seems to be in some crisis of identity. However I don't think this is recognised by many lawyers.
I think there must be something wrong with the training and the practice.
Reposted given the sentence passed on Paul Quinn. Andrew’s existence literally hung by a thread discovered in the forensic archive, given that GMP had destroyed all relevant trial exhibits.
It was more than clear to Michele what was going on. She wrote her concerns up in detail and sent them to Ben Myers. One of her regrets was that she was not more forceful in pushing herself forward as a resource for the defence and contacting Letby and her parents directly.
For the record, she was one of two ANNPs whose careers were ended early as a way to reduce costs.
The irony is that when the RCPCH was called in in 2016, partly due to concerns about increasing neonatal mortality, one of their recommendations was to appoint two ANNPs.
Michele also recognised that she shared Letby's elevated exposure to higher-acuity cases – so for her, as with any nurse in a similarly statistically vulnerable position, given the quality of evidence advanced and accepted at face value in the Letby case, "I think it's very frightening for nursing across the board that this sort of thing can happen. With such utter nonsense."
@merchant47 Nah, Letby is just a genius who masqueraded so successfully as a kind & gentle cat rescuer that her guilt is only detectable if you’ve got Breary’s prescient gut feeling or Dewi’s super human detective skills, otherwise it’s invisible. We just gotta trust Moritz, it was the vibes
The spectre of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy looms large in Lucy’s case - hence Allitt being brought up right at the start; ‘attention seeking’ levelled at her by Johnson during the trial and then brought up at the start of the Thirlwall Inquiry.
It’s been a tactic for medical cover ups for half a century led by Roy Meadow and David Southall to great effect. Meadow plagiarised Money and Werlwas’ who coined the term MSBP in 1976. Meadow clearly saw its value and first wrote about it a year later in 1977.
At that time David Southall had teamed up with Lady Limerick at FSID ( Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths) and they funded his breathing experiments.
In 1982 Limerick and Southall both attended Steinschneider’s SIDS conference in Baltimore US. Southall brought some ‘results’ in his briefcase and wowed the medical delegates with his research - which trashed Steinchneider’s apnea research. Southall said he had found MURDER. Not apnea.
Steinschneider’s work was based on a family who lost five children to SIDS. Hoyt family. Hugely influenced by Southall’s dogmatic delivery in the conference, Linda Norton approached attorneys and Waneta Hoyt was arrested, then charged and jailed for life for killing her children. She died in a New York Penitentiary before her Appeal. She was pardoned after her death.
Two years later, Southall was involved with premature infants and Suzanne Wilson had been tagged without her knowledge in pregnancy expecting twin girls in Gosport. Put in a clinical trial in Chelsea at 25 weeks gestation she threatened to sue after 11 years of trying to cope with the damage he caused to the twins. Social services contacted Southall then he became involved and accused her of MSBP. In a family court all four of her children were removed. He hounded her to New Zealand, never letting go and took two more.
Meanwhile, in 1991 Southall is lecturing on MSBP to medics in Warwick. Attendees included those who months later contacted Meadow and Beverley Allitt became their next innocent victim.
In Murder on Ward 6 (?) it’s recounted that Nelson Porter paediatrician, listened carefully to Southall. Then months later Meadow was brought in.interestingly it’s written that Clifton (policeman) had been ‘talking to psychiatrists’. But Meadow and Southall are not psychiatrists. They are paediatricians who can’t diagnose psychiatric disorders. Southall was also thought to be a psychiatrist by the police in Sean Jenkins’ miscarriage of justice.
Meadow and Southall were a tag team in Sally Clark’s case a few years later and at the same time as she was released Meadow was due to spread his heinous calumny across the world to Australia where Kath Folbigg was facing trial for killing her children. As he faced disciplinary proceedings at the GMC he couldn’t travel but others picked up his baton. ‘Pigs can’t fly’ they said turning his wrong 73 million to 1 statistic into Oz slang to jail an innocent woman for life.
As Sally was freed in the U.K. Kath was imprisoned in Australia for life. Sally never recovered and died in 2007. The Law Commission spent years setting out new guidelines and rules relating to expert testimony in criminal trials. Sally’s prosecuting barrister Robin Spencer was knighted and made a High Court Judge by the Coalition Government who turned down their recommendations. He went to the same Chester school as Jayaram and other key figures.
Twenty years later as Kath was freed, Lucy Letby was sent to prison for life in the U.K. Dewi Evans who used the same MO as Meadow and Southall was the expert witness.
Sir Robin Spencer was the single Appeal Judge to turn down her application to Appeal. If the Law Commission recommendations had been accepted, Evans’ would never have been allowed in as an expert witness.
Shame on them all.
@Jabbey20 It's a complete disaster that of the £10M investigation budget not a pound was spent in the contemplation of what the truth might be.
It was all, get on TV, get in our tame journalists, get those gongs.
Not a second of contemplation. If they had the lunacy would have emerged.
The truth is too awful to contemplate: Lucy was a young, innocent & capable RN with her whole life ahead of her.
She should be a senior RN with a family. Instead, she is imprisoned, traumatised by yrs of bullying & baseless investigations.
I will NEVER stop fighting for her
On Saturday morning I received an email from Dewi Evans: "Dear Peter, Not heard from you recently. Is this why? Dewi Evans" (he referred to this post - https://t.co/RFRR3jmMk6).
I immediately replied, "Dear Dewi, Lovely to hear from you. The reason you have not heard from me is that you stopped responding to my messages so I gave up. Do you not remember this? Regardless, why does Deb Roberts think that I said that Mark McDonald had not been formally instructed? Where did I write that? Best wishes, Peter"
He did not respond so I sent him an email on Saturday afternoon asking, "Hi Dewi, are you going to respond to me? BW, Peter".
He did not respond to that either so I am writing this post.
He is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm told by experts that my extensive correspondence with him over the last year will be useful with respect to Letby's appeal court applications, whenever they are made.
This is a "man" who values troll garbage. He is a former doctor who values the medical input of a troll, and one who has no medical experience. He is erratic in terms of when he chooses to write/respond to me. He is erratic in terms of WHAT he writes to me.
But he is the "man" who got an innocent nurse put away.
Dear British justice system, you might JUST want to reconsider stricter selection criteria for expert witnesses.

@RichardHor54460 I sincerely hope that the passage about Bronzefield and the attitude towards her are true. Lucia de Berk has always said that it was a huge turning point for her mental health when people were recognizing and acknowledging the MoJ and the opinion of the other prisoners changed.
@DailyMail Funding to the CCRC needs increasing, to hire more staff to review cases. These people have waited unacceptable amounts of time to get proper reviews
Appeals are also rejected too easily, then decades later the person gets proven innocent. The whole system needs a major overhaul
