Reached Masterball Rank with a 12-1 record. Mega Sceptile farms Basculegion and Mega Raichu. Floette beats Mega Staraptor. Rotom beats Mega Metagross. +1 Earth Power combined with Discharge can run over passive teams. Enjoy!!!
@Spookiie_ Sceptile inside Tailwind works. Something that also works is leading Bascu Aero into Swampert so you can Wave Crash into Aqua Jet while you set up Tailwind.
@Spookiie_ The important thing to remember is that Sceptile is a secondary Mega. It comes out in certain matchups such as Mega Blastoise, Raichu, Swampert, Glimmora, Gengar, Metagross, Manectric and against Basculegion. Floette is the main Mega for the team.
@8ulletrain Floette with Aerodactyl put a lot of pressure against Staraptor with double super effective moves. Rotom-Heat can also pressure it. Basculegion can also be used if you can bait Brave Bird early game so it doesn't get any defense boost with cc. Bascu can then sweep in the back.
@Spookiie_ Yeah, Sceptile really needs to be moving first to be useful as it's defenses are low. Against speed control teams with Trick Room or Tailwine it can't shine to much. Against weather, balance or passive teams is where it can overwhelm with +1 moves.
@lettricetragica 252 Atk Staraptor-Mega Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Floette-Mega: 121-144 (81.2 - 96.6%). It doesnt ko Floette and Floette can ko it before it moves because its faster 252 SpA Fairy Aura Floette-Mega Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Staraptor-Mega: 270-318 (140.6 - 165.6%)
@Getto_Smurf Hard to say it doesnt have crazy op stats or abilities like Zard, Floette or Staraptor. But its one of the few mons that can beat Basculegion. I think it will always be a secondary mega to fix a Basculegion or Raichu matchup, but most games will be carried by your primary mega.
@gswlink@TUser4999 Yeah but not if they setup screens first or use fake tears with Whimsicott. They can also Scary Face Sceptile or Spirit Break Sceptile.
@JohnnyHax Yeah I think this build is good because Rotom-Heat complements Sceptile so well since you can threathen key threats like Metagross, Zard and Whimsi. The other Discharge spammers like Raichu, Rotom-Wash and Jolteon dont really pressure key mons. Aerodactyl is mandatory for tw.
@JugglerWylde Into Farigiraf Incineroar you can bring Mega Floette with Garchomp and slowly stall turns then sweep with Basculegion once tr has finished.
@OrqasDaWhale If you suspect Ice Punch Swampert you could lead Sceptile and Aerodactyl. Protect Tailwind and then the second turn attack with Grass Knot and Rock Slide. Or you could go with Aero and Chomp/Bascu deny their tailwind let Chomp/Bascu go down and sweep with Mega Sceptile endgame.
@oneandonlyvik@ScooteezyVGC Giga drain is too weak and Sceptile is to frail to take advantage of healing. Energy Ball and Grass Knot are similar power but Grass Knot is better into Basculegion, Mega Blastoise, Farigiraf and Tyranitar.
@TUser4999 Similar power while not having to switch out after -2. This team does not have the best defensive backbone. So you either run Grass Knot or Energy Ball.
