@tes@PaulWhiteman6 We are paid to work roughly 32 hours a week based on 1265 over 39 weeks. In what other job would work another 15 hours plus a week for free?
@Positivteacha I think the money is in the wrong place £2500 a month tax free for 10 months to train. They will have to wait along time to earn this as a teacher. This money needs to be given to retain longer serving teachers as the money at ups 3 still isn’t enough.
@nokinidea @MartinSLewis@ofgem Smart meters are fab if you have an ev and you want to access the benefits of the ev rate at home. It costs me £1 a day to drive 40 miles.
@David_P_UK @DanielKebedeNEU Singaporeans want to be the best and want to be first. On the few times I have had the opportunity to visit this country there is a very different culture. Students are respectful of education and teachers, there are busy tutoring shops in every mall. They even have teacher day.
@tes@HKorbey My daughter is an August baby and has done really well in reception this year. I do think she was ready as she had been to nursery since being 6 months old. Obviously every child is different.
I am also an August baby and also did well.
@tes @lukesibieta @CharteredColl Rubbish ! They will take the money and run after a couple of years. Seen it too many times x reward loyalty to the profession and stop losing experienced specialist teachers to other professions.
@tes@TeacherTapp Not surprised really. With a maths degree I could have earned so much more but chose what I love. Sharing my passion of maths. Gutted the government don’t appreciate the qualifications that people have unlike the Scottish government who have the pay scale spot on.
@markruffett@Mcevoy7777@NEUnion@NAHTnews I agree. It forces schools to make cuts or replace UPS3 teachers with unqualified teachers. 2 for the price of 1. The pay rise must be fully funded or else work load will naturally increase as redundancy is required to balance the books.
While there has been an offer in Wales, and talk of an offer in Scotland, the Government has not made any new offer on teacher pay in England this year or next.
📽️Watch our joint general secretary @cyclingkev explain what happened.👇
❗ @NEUnion has suspended planned strike action in Wales next week, after the Welsh government increased their pay offer to 6.5 per cent with an additional 1.5 per cent one-off payment

@Headteacherchat Take a genuine approach make it someone’s responsibility. Discount Christmas parties for all. Give staff a lesson pass that allows staff to leave early one a year. Try to under allocate on the timetable in exchange for a number of covers as an option for those that want to.
