Enforcing a Canadian quota for the music industry is so important. While some Canadian artists have exposure, many Canadian artists struggle to make there way in the music industry. Most will have to move to for ex. New York or LA. The quota would keep artists local #MUNMUS2011

Covers of popular music can be a new way to experience a song.Many people connect with songs differently, &it’s very interesting to see how artists interrupt the song &make it their own.Covers can pull aspects of an original song but have different emotions attached #MUNMUS2011

It’s troubling that a white artist can sing covers of the same piece and become famous while a black artist worked on it and do not receive recognition.

The “schlock” music can be seen as cultural theft. The origins of the music is changed to appeal to wider genres instead of the original intended audience. Artists take the work of others & change small components, most times w/o giving credit to the original artist. #MUNMUS2011
