@LemonsforLemon1@edellephillips1@rodericogorman It was atrocious in 2010 when it was introduced at €4.30 ph. It’s beyond a joke in 2022 that it has only risen 30c in 12 yrs. If the minister and the DCEDIY drag it out long enough with this review of ECCE there’ll be no change to Capitation this side of budget ‘24, if ever.
@noelfchambers@rodericogorman@MurphyDunne Exactly! It’s quite clear now the minister only cares about properly funding the services that cost parents money. If we were all charging fees we would be getting loads in core funding no doubt!
@rodericogorman@MurphyDunne ECCE providers must have been making a fortune for years as the minister expects us to cover almost all of the cost of living increases over 12 years, hundreds of hours of extra admin, the new ERO & sick pay in the new year from 2015 capitation rates.
And all we are looking for in our sector is €30m to save small and average services ECCE capitation to be raised by €7 a week to start with and index link it from here on in. We have to be viable not sustainable. @dcediy @rodericogorman@Toibin1
@greenparty_ie@rodericogorman What about ECCE only services that currently have zero cost to parents? They will be non existent in a few years if you don’t start to properly fund them. A lot of parents are not going to be happy with the disappearance of their free preschools
We are meeting our minister on Monday afternoon for discussion around the viability of small and medium services. We are hopeful for a good out come. Minister we can only hope you are not going to waste our time and that you will put real solutions on the table. @rodericogorman
@EYEducatorIrl Announcement today regarding my wife’s small rural Montessori School. She’s inconsolable having to do this as it was always more of a vocation for her. https://t.co/iT4t5kwD8l
Services need €76 capitation PLUS CORE FUNDING. The Minister keeps spinning it as though if only these complaining services would sign up, life would be great. The majority of protestors HAVE signed up and still can't survive. Read that again. And again, please. Thank you.
@rodericogorman Shows the flaws in the whole system. Those who never had graduates benefitted more than those with graduates and yet you say you want a graduate led workforce. It makes no sense!
@johncookeradio@RTERadio1@drivetimerte@FederationEarly@rodericogorman Core funding leaves ecce only services behind. funding based on the more hours open age range of children and more days open each year. ECCE sessional model caters for the education of 3 to 5yr olds 3 hours a day 38 weeks a year. Restructure core funding model to include ecce
@dcediy you should let the public know how you withdrew some funding, replaced it with other funding, and left us high and dry in the face of inflation. Our protest is NOT "unwarranted". How insulting. Do the sums!
