The way people responded to the Charlotte stabbing is insane. The only thing it shows us is that prison doesn't help anything. He did his time and then did a worse offense. So what good was that 5 years in prison? Instead, he could have had psychological help.

Look for software solutions that use as little AI as possible, preferring the reliability of classical code. By putting more AI in more places, everything we rely on gets less reliable (often compounding due to multiple steps of the process using AI, e.g. a product supply chain).

A friend of mine works for a Fortune 10 company.

They recently mandated a return to the office.

The problem? Employees had relocated across the country during remote work.

Some made major life changes—new homes, new schools for their kids—only to be told they had to move back.

Then, shortly after relocating back, many were laid off.

The fallout was immediate. No one else was willing to relocate.

A full-scale mutiny.

Now, the company is stuck. They can’t get talent to move, and morale has taken a massive hit.

An entirely self-inflicted wound.

Too often anti-capitalist messaging is made less effective by the implication that life should be free but, unfortunately, there will always be a cost to life. What capitalism introduced is the ever-inflating aspect as well as individualizing that cost rather than collectivizing.
