What God has ahead of you deserves more attention than what you've left behind.
"Remember ye not the former things... Behold, I will do a new thing." Isaiah 43:18–19
The greatest middle finger you can give modern life is becoming impossible to rush. Look around. Taste the coffee. Finish the conversation. Let impatient people overtake you. Most of them don't even know where they're sprinting.
In anything you do in life, don't get used to crumbs. Make no mistake, they’ll times we may be forced to accept crumbs to move ahead, but make sure you are aware it is crumbs, and you deserve better. And if you accept crumbs for so long, you may start seeing it as normal.
Starve the flesh and live by the Spirit. Refuse to feed sinful desires, and instead nurture your relationship with God. As you walk in the Spirit, the power of the flesh grows weaker, and Christ is glorified through your life.
You should study what makes you defensive. The topic you avoid, the joke that irritates you, the question that feels insulting, the feedback you instantly reject. Defensiveness is usually the guard dog sitting in front of a weakness you have not trained yourself to face.
your ability to walk away is your power in life, business, and relationships. the moment you become desperate to keep something, you start negotiating against yourself. know your value, control your emotions, and be willing to leave what no longer serves you. desperation will always cost you more than discipline.
