@cymrurouge Yeah Mary O'brien was her real name, think her folks moved back and forth from Ireland when she and her bothers were kids.
BBC4 did a really great doc about her a few years back.
She was a very interesting person, lot of personal downs, but always stayed musically relevant.

Sadly, she was a lost woman who hid her sexualality in the bottom of a bottle.
