I NEED PEOPLE TO LISTEN - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
I am seriously considering taking legal action against Sony over the decision to end physical PlayStation game disc production in January 2028. I have the financial means and the intention to pursue this seriously. What I need now is help gathering documented evidence, timelines, factory information, corporate statements, archived marketing.
Allegation:
Sony’s own CFO Lin Tao subsequently stated that the company had put “a lot of thought and time” into the decision and had “cautiously considered this” before reaching its conclusion. Sony also explicitly said it chose to announce the decision around 1.5 years before the 2028 cutoff.
That raises a very simple question:
When did Sony actually make this decision?
Because the evidence surrounding Sony’s manufacturing operations raises even more questions.
Sony DADC’s facility in Thalgau, Austria - its remaining wholly owned optical disc manufacturing facility - has been preparing for a major transition toward Micro Optics. Sony says it has been developing these new products for several years and approximately €30 million has reportedly been invested in the new technology. Employees had already been moved away from disc production and trained for the new operation.
Reports indicate that the Thalgau facility currently produces around 600,000 discs per day, with roughly half connected to PlayStation, while production is expected to fall dramatically by 2028. The facility is being transitioned toward optical microlens production.
Sony had already made a sufficiently concrete decision to abandon physical PlayStation releases while continuing to sell PS5 Disc Edition consoles without informing consumers, there could be serious questions regarding consumer information, misleading marketing, contractual expectations and the timing of Sony’s disclosure.
The fact that Sony’s remaining disc facility was already being transformed toward another technology, with employees being retrained and significant investment already made, makes the timeline particularly important.
It’s about whether consumers were properly informed about a major strategic decision before they spent hundreds of euros buying hardware whose primary purpose for them was physical game ownership.
My lawyer has already contacted the Thalgau facility to ask when these retraining measures and transition plans were first considered and when the relevant decisions were made. The answers may help establish the timeline and clarify what Sony and its manufacturing operations knew, and when they knew it.

Because they actually make a lot of exclusive games, every single year. They have long said software sells systems - can't sell a new system without a lot of exclusive software.
It's called betting on yourself.
If The Witcher IV misses the January 2028 cutoff for physical PS5 discs, The Witcher 3 will be my final Witcher game. I’d rather walk away than embrace a future where “buying” means licensing a product that can be revoked whenever Sony sees fit.
It's still too early, but that day where they start normalizing removal of your game purchases and make them only accessible through subscription licenses is coming.
And they will be citing back to moments like this where they "gave us more than fair and timely warning".
Again, when the leap to "next gen" comes, abandon Playstation.
The fact that we dont have giant herds of cattle and bison is the very evidence of lack of golden age. USA beef and bison should be the envy of the entire world. Our farmers and companies like mine trying to better the food supply should be given the government benefits that went to Somali daycares and Indian scam gas stations and vape shops
incredible how a tribe of pastoral steppe nomads conquered India 4,000 years ago, convinced the people they subjugated that the cows they brought were “sacred”, and millennia later Indians are still eating cow dung and pulling hijinks like this.
just totally brainrарed
"You're really going to listen to Isram? You know he's a redguard, right? You know their base INT is far below most other races, right?"
"Wow, you're right...I guess I never thought of it like that before..."

Sony is sending emails to PlayStation users reminding them about the platform’s terms and that they don’t actually own their digital games.
The email is getting attention because Sony’s terms say that when you buy a digital game, you’re buying a license to use it, not owning the digital game itself.
That license generally can’t be transferred to someone else, and losing access to your account can also mean losing access to your digital content.
In other words, if your PlayStation account is permanently banned or closed, you could lose access to the digital games linked to that account.
Finished Palworld's main story.
Great 8.5/10 Game.
Had a lot of fun. I usually don't like survival games, and this one actually managed to grab me with a solid gameplay loop that managed to mitigate most of the busywork.
But the story is... Notably disappointing.
There were a lot of great pieces for a story. Interesting factions and lore. But it's all buried and hidden in scattered logs and sidequests. It was hard to get invested in the world. The Pals feel developed and like they're part of a living breathing world, but the human NPC's feel mechanical and gamey, and this is really noticeable with how you progress through the story. Sure, the Faction Leaders have cool designs and personalities, but we barely interact with them, or the people affected by them.
I mean, give Pokémon some credit, I was at least invested enough in the world to get mad about it when the stories didn't add up.
Palworld's gameplay is great despite the numerous glitches and bugs I encountered, and I love a lot of the pals' designs and functions, but the worldbuilding and presentation of it is really clumsy.
Also, no music unless you're in combat or talking to a shopkeeper is a BAFFLING choice to me.
