@sandtreader @CallingKernow @Porthynys I suppose you failed to read the part of the proposal guidelines that clearly state petitions will not be considered and play absolutely no part in the process: https://t.co/3ShGQEXP5p
@mirrvibezz Spamming an account whose notifications nobody reads will accomplish less than nothing. Wait till April when submissions are open again and write a formal proposal. That is the only way of getting a new emoji added. https://t.co/kZbx6BYsYp
@biketamere 🚳 and 🚷 were encoded on request from the German and Irish national bodies to fill semantic gaps in the original Japanese emoji sets: https://t.co/7o6KRjzIZf
If you want new emoji, you can submit a formal proposal to Unicode starting April 2021: https://t.co/heLPM2e939
@dave_endsor The Unicode Consortium does not consider petitions under any circumstances. https://t.co/nfpfmbtZPH
Emoji are created based on formal proposal documents, which would be rejected straight away in this case because imagery associated with specific brands is strictly prohibited.
@malkie33@rescue_rose Petitions are useless and will not be considered: https://t.co/nfpfmbtZPH
From what I remember, the donkey emoji was rejected because it was deemed too similar to 🐎, so a second proposal is unlikely to succeed.
@GLawsonDuck Also, flags are very unpopular emoji in general, so they’re not even going to accept proposals for them as they would be rarely used and serve little purpose.
@GLawsonDuck They do not care about petitions or social media. https://t.co/L50we9lm3V
The Basque flag is already in Unicode and can be implemented at any time, but they’re not going to recommend it to vendors because they’d have to add lots of other flags as well. https://t.co/asTueP0tjH
@JugoDeUvaSam It wasn’t; it’s a sensationalist story based on quotes taken out of context. The trans flag emoji was added half a year ago and approved way before that. https://t.co/Ewss06GDXs
