Public projects in rome were built to last, while today, contractors are doing the bare minimum, just so they can secure another rebuild/repair projects in a few years. Roman Aqueducts are used still

While, we build things just so we can repair or rebuild them in a decade or two (mainly when referring to superficial gov infrastructure). We probably should spend more time and money building lasting projects.
