58% of Americans have the same amount of emergency savings or less than a year ago. When workers can't get ahead on the basics, retirement planning becomes even harder.
Savings are moving in the wrong direction. At S ESOP companies, they trend the other way.

"This company's dedication to its people shines through its employee-owned structure, which provides a transformative opportunity for employees to build better lives."
Thank you @RepSteveWomack for visiting ESCA member Central States and recognizing the impact of employee ownership in Northwest Arkansas.
Northwest Arkansas continues to lead in manufacturing, and I saw another prime example of this at Central States Manufacturing’s new frame plant in Springdale. This facility opened for business in fall of last year and boasts of advanced steel structure manufacturing technologies. Central States is also 100% employee-owned, providing its workers with the opportunity to build better lives for themselves and their families.
"Their model puts workers first and keeps opportunity right here in our communities."
Thank you, @RepMarkAlford, for visiting ESCA member @ESS_emerysapp in Columbia and for your support of employee ownership in Missouri.
We’re here with the team at @ESS_emerysapp in Columbia today.

If all private companies in the U.S. became 30% employee-owned, household wealth would nearly double, according to @HarvardHBS research.
Employee ownership doesn't just build individual wealth. It keeps wealth local and builds it across generations.

"Employee ownership creates opportunities to grow, create high-paying jobs, and strengthen retirement security for workers."
Thank you @RepSmucker for visiting ESCA member KPH Healthcare Services and cosponsoring the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act.
Had a great meeting with employee-owners at KPH Healthcare Services.
Employee ownership creates opportunities for businesses to grow while providing employees the chance to invest directly in their company's success. I'm proud to support legislation like H.R. 3105, the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act, to help small businesses expand and succeed.
@EmployeesOwn
I had the pleasure of visiting the Fountain Lakes Distribution Center in St. Charles, operated by @Vivos_Holdings, where I spoke directly with employee-owners about the unique advantages of being part of an employee-owned company and witnessed the genuine sense of pride and accountability that come from having a personal stake in the business’s success.
I am grateful for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to see their day to day operations up close. Thank you for having me!
Thank you @RepDaleStrong for cosponsoring the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act.
Your support is a meaningful step toward giving more Americans an ownership stake in the companies where they work.
Are American workers prepared for retirement?
New data says no. And the gap between where workers are and where they need to be is wider than most people realize.
Most business owners reach for the familiar exit playbook. A new @RU_SMLR report shows there is a better one.
Employee ownership is financially competitive, keeps businesses in communities, and rewards the workers who built them.
The barrier is awareness.

Nearly half of retirees retire earlier than planned according to the @wapo.
Unexpected shocks are hurting American retirement accounts. ESOPs work alongside traditional programs like 401(k)s to give workers a stronger financial cushion when life doesn't go as planned.

ESCA Board member @Wawa had a choice. Go public, answer to shareholders, scale fast. They chose a different path.
Since establishing their ESOP in 1992, cashiers and shift supervisors have retired with unmatched retirement savings.
