INEC HOLDS IMPORTANT CONSULTATIVE MEETING WITH ALL POLITICAL PARTIES.
The Independent National Electoral Commission @inecnigeria is currently in a Second Quarterly Consultative meeting with all registered political parties and their recognized National Chairmen and National Secretaries.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Abdulrahman Muhammed Takushara alongside the National. Secretary of the party Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu are visibly actively present.
Recognised Men and Women of the fourth estate of the realm are also present at this important meeting.
The Honorable Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN) in his opening remarks welcomed all leaders of political parties emphasizing that the regular engagements remain an important pillar of our democratic process. "Political Parties are not merely contestants in elections; they are critical stakeholders and indispensable partners in the consolidation of constitutional democracy in Nigeria", he said.
He addressed some judicial pronouncements and updated on actions and steps taken so far to tackle any challenge in a timely and transparent manner. He also made reference to accountability mechanism to make the system robust while also highlighting on the submission and recognition of names of persons and candidates in parties as preparation for 2027 General Election gets into top gear. He emphasised that the primary elections remain gateway to successful elections and hitch free elections and the need to reflect on lessons learned from previous electoral cycles.
He further urged political parties to complete submissions before the deadline, while calling for intensified voters education and need for collection of PVCs and urged leaders of political parties to ensure strict adherence to the constitution, electoral act and party guidelines. He called for discouragement of vote buying and other acts that jeopardise effort and credibility.
With 220 days to the general election, the INEC consultative meeting with all political parties is critical for credible, peaceful, and orderly polls.
This move Aligns Expectations Early as
220 days out is when timelines, guidelines, and procedures get finalized. The meeting ensures all parties understand INEC’s rules on primaries, candidate nomination, campaign finance, polling unit processes, and results transmission. No surprises, no excuses on election day.
It is also expected that this meeting builds trust and reduces tension knowing that Elections are won or lost on perception. Therefore INEC's meeting with parties openly to share updates on voter register, PVC distribution, technology like BVAS/IReV, and security plans, is critical.
Above all, it is expected to strengthen Code of Conduct & Peace as INEC and political parties are expected to reaffirm commitment to non-violence, issue-based campaigns, and compliance with the Electoral Act. 220 days gives time for party leadership to cascade the message to candidates and supporters at state/LGA level and improve election credibility especially as the Governorship elections in Ekiti is just 11 days away and Osun Governorship Election which is scheduled to hold on 20th June 2026 with special reference to the signing of "Peace Accord" by political parties in Ekiti state.

🇿🇦 "NO INDIVIDUALS ARE ALLOWED TO GO AROUND ASKING FOR DOCUMENTS FROM FOREIGNERS!"
President Cyril Ramaphosa has firmly stated that vigilante groups and private individuals have no legal authority to stop people on the streets or enter businesses to demand identity documents from foreigners.
Under South African law, enforcing immigration controls and verifying legal residency are powers reserved strictly for the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
Only OFFICIALS can do this and that's it! No random people harassdng foreigners anymore This is HUGE for stopping xenophobia and protecting everyone's rights!!!

PDP – Power to the People!
Notice! Notice!! Notice!!!
To The PDP Members that are partially Uniformed, Half-informed, Dis-informed, Misinformed, Gullible, Deceived and/or Confused, it’s High Time You moved On With The Legally Authentic Leadership of The Party, please.
For the record and without sounding immodest or unconcerned against anyone or group, the fact is that there was an instruction on this platform to desist from posting intra-party issues BUT I returned here last week and now in the interest of those classes of members mentioned above to let them know that THERE ARE NO MORE OUTSTANDING INTRA-PARTY CONFLICTS going on in the PDP EXCEPT skirmishes from adamancy which amounts to SCOOPING FROM THE PAST and hoping it becomes the present BUT certainly such is to no avail.
As a matter of fact, the Record is NOW VERY INDELIBLE that the PDP NEC on 7th of December, 2025 constituted the Hon Abdulrahman-led 12-Man National Caretaker Committee and the FHC Ibadan Judgement of 30th of January, 2026 recognized the Action as “Inescapable” and therefore recognized it as the “Legitimate and Authentic Leadership of the PDP”. The Judgement Ordered the Caretaker Committee to conduct an “Acceptable” National Convention and also Ordered INEC to recognize the Body.
In compliance, the Committee did conduct the Outstanding 14 States Congresses that was in contention/litigations and held a recognized National Convention in March 2026 that had a 13-Man very senior delegation from the INEC led by 3 National Commissioners.
Find below the CTC of the FHC Ibadan Judgement under reference in case you have not read it before but being carried away with the magnitude of twists and conjectures against every Party Judgement.
Finally, let all recall that I have not made submissions of personal opinions, views or interpret judgments anywhere BUT stated unequivocal positions of the Law as stated in those Judgements which are written in simple English and not hard legal terminologies.
But what can one do with adamant personal positions of some people that are soaked and trapped in closed minds of hatred and arrogance??? This ill-minds and their various positions are responsible for every twists that followed PDP Judgements since Year 2024 to date; and who are the Victims, let’s critically look at it?
The simple response is that the PDP as an Organization creates and governed by law is the biggest VICTIM; next is its innocent and gullible members and supporters who are digesting these twisted stories. However as a matter fact, the Contents, Meanings and Implications of these Judgements (FHCs, CoAs & Supreme Court) remain SAFE, INDELIBLE as well as UNDERSTANDABLE to the Truly INFORMED and well-meaning PDP members.
Also, find below the CTC Judgement of the Court of Appeal of 3rd June (3days ago) that “DISMISSED” the Suit Filled by the Turaki-SAN led challenging the FHC Ibadan Judgement of January 2026 on the Leadership of the PDP. Take a cursory look by yourself and if confused, go ask neutral person(s) outside those confusing matters.
For the avoidance of doubt, The Dismissal of the Suit by the CoA - is SIMPLY AN AFFIRMATION of the Hon Abdulrahman-led NWC and the BoT Chairmanship of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa. SHINE YOUR EYES!
To this end, those sincerely concerned are hereby officially and truthfully INFORMED in the overall interest of the PDP to avoid further confusion.
Overall, The Lord be praised that the PDP made it on the 2027 Ballots after its ferocious internal leadership conflicts.
Indeed according to Scriptures, it’s not by Power and not by Might but The Lord Rules in the Affairs of Men according to His Will.
To this end, May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with Us; guide Us and illuminate our hearts, minds and path to understand His Will and Permissive Actions in these crucial Seasons.
Long live the PDP!!!
The train has already left the station.
Was INEC not a party to all the legal processes the Party went through? Their lawyers were present throughout the proceedings at the various courts, and they equally have Certified True Copies (CTCs) of all the judgments delivered.
It is therefore surprising that some people still believe they can twist or misrepresent clear court judgments through propaganda.
Facts remain facts, and judgments speak for themselves.
Those attempting to deceive the public will eventually learn the hard way that the rule of law cannot be overridden by misinformation.
Power to the people.
I no gree,I no gree.
You Sabi who I be,I be this and that no be when person don kpai for your hand oooooo. The tori go change immediately.
Is either you go for it or any of your relatives become a victim.
Yes, you can write, talk and challenge each other, but to confront anybody should be the last option....some human beings are walking corpse already.
Both the man who is dead and the man who is alive who supposed to be applauded for his bravery is now regretting his life and his family are going to suffer more for his show of unnecessary power.
May this never be our portion in Jesus name Amen
The facts remain clear and indisputable: Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu remain the duly recognized leaders of the National Working Committee as affirmed by the courts and recognized by INEC. Every contrary narrative is merely political propaganda designed to obscure the reality of a failed appeal and settled legal questions.

APPEAL COURT RULING: Dismissed in Court, Revived in Propaganda: The Turaki Group’s Continued Misrepresentation of Settled Legal Issues
June 5, 2026.
The continued attempt by the Turaki group to misrepresent the recent judicial pronouncements is nothing short of a calculated campaign of misinformation designed to distract from the central fact that their appeal was dismissed for lacking merit.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Court of Appeal did not overturn the decision of the Federal High Court recognizing the Caretaker Committee led by Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu. Rather, the appellate court dismissed Turaki’s appeal and upheld the decision of the Federal High Court which recognized the legitimacy of the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led Caretaker Committee and the subsequent National Working Committee.
More importantly, the Supreme Court has already addressed these issues and treated the arguments advanced by the Turaki faction as an academic exercise. The apex court upheld the decisions of the lower courts and dismissed Turaki’s appeal for lacking in merit. That remains the legal position today.
It is therefore both curious and amusing that individuals who were unsuccessful in court now seek to reinterpret judgments through media propaganda. If their interpretation of the law is indeed correct, are they suggesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a party to the proceedings and represented throughout the litigation by competent legal practitioners, does not understand the judgments delivered by the courts?
INEC has a well-established Legal Directorate staffed by seasoned legal professionals whose responsibility is to interpret court judgments and advise the Commission accordingly. In line with the judgments of the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court, INEC has duly recognized the National Working Committee led by Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu. This recognition was not accidental, nor was it based on political considerations. It was based on the law and the clear pronouncements of competent courts.
Indeed, when the Supreme Court delivered its judgment concerning the ADC leadership, INEC moved swiftly to update its records and web portal to reflect the leadership led by David Mark. Did the Commission misrepresent the judgment in that instance? Certainly not. It acted in accordance with its constitutional and statutory responsibilities. The same principle applies in this matter.
The suggestion that INEC’s legal team, which has access to the Certified True Copies of the judgments and participated in the proceedings, somehow misunderstood the rulings while a handful of political actors possess a superior interpretation is both illogical and unsustainable.
The truth is that the propaganda being promoted by the Turaki group is merely an attempt to divert attention from the substantive issue before the courts, an appeal that was comprehensively dismissed. No amount of media spin can alter the contents of a court judgment or rewrite judicial pronouncements.
We therefore caution members of the public to disregard these misleading narratives. It is foolhardy to mislead citizens with unfounded interpretations of the law, especially where the records of the courts and the actions of the statutory regulatory body responsible for political parties clearly point to the right direction which is the Abdulrahman/Anyanwu leadership.
Furthermore, impersonation remains a grave offence under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Individuals who continue to parade themselves as officers of the party without lawful authority expose themselves to serious legal consequences. The relevant provisions of the criminal justice system will be invoked where necessary, and those engaging in such conduct, including Turaki and his co-travellers, will be held accountable in accordance with the law..
BREAKING:
Court of Appeal, Abuja, has unanimously dismissed the Turaki Group’s appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, which recognized the Abdulrahman led PDP Caretaker Committee, which conducted the National Convention where the present NWC members of the party were elected
The FHC had in January, this year refused to recognise the Turaki Group executive from the Ibadan convention and affirmed the Abdulrahman-led Caretaker Committee.
The Court of Appeal held that the appeal was academic and raised no live issue.
Wike Assures Protesting Teachers of Rescue Efforts, Warns Against Politicising Insecurity
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday assured protesting teachers and civil society organisations in Abuja that security agencies are intensifying efforts to secure the release of abducted teachers and students, while cautioning against the politicisation of security challenges.
Addressing demonstrators who staged a protest in front at the Federal Capital Territory Adminstration (FCTA) Secretariat demanding the immediate rescue of victims of recent school kidnappings, Wike said the Federal Government remained committed to ensuring the safe return of those in captivity.
According to him, security agencies are actively working to rescue the victims and restore confidence in the country's security architecture.
"We are all concerned about this security situation. The government is on its toes to ensure that those who are kidnapped are rescued," he said.
The minister expressed confidence in the capacity of the nation's security institutions to secure the release of the abducted teachers and students, stressing the need for prompt action.
"I have that confidence that the security system will do all they can to make sure the teachers and the students that are being kidnapped are rescued, and let it be prompt," he added.
Wike, however, warned against turning security concerns into political issues, arguing that insecurity affects all parts of the country and should be approached as a collective national challenge.
He noted that incidents of teacher abductions had occurred in other states without attracting similar protests in the nation's capital, urging citizens to adopt a more unified response to security threats.
"We are all concerned, but let us not politicise issues. That is what I will not support. We are all concerned about the security situation and how the teachers and students should be released," he said.
The minister further disclosed that security agencies were operating within established protocols and had made significant progress in efforts to secure the victims' freedom.
According to him, no responsible government would deliberately allow its citizens to remain vulnerable to criminal elements, adding that authorities were working under challenging circumstances to protect lives and property.
"There is no government that will deliberately say let citizens be kidnapped, but we know where we found ourselves and we know that everything possible is being done," he stated.
Calling for national solidarity, Wike said insecurity should not be viewed through regional or political lenses, stressing that an attack on one community ultimately affects the entire country.
"What concerns you concerns everybody, and what concerns Abuja also concerns everybody. We are all looking at how people should rise up with the same dedication," he said.
The protest followed growing public concern over recent school abductions in parts of the country, with teachers' groups and civil society organisations calling on authorities to strengthen security around schools and ensure the safe return of victims.
