Nigeria stands firmly as a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees of religious liberty.
Since 2023, our administration has maintained an open and active engagement with Christian and Muslim leaders alike and continues to address security challenges which affect citizens across faiths and regions.
The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians.
Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it.
Nigeria is a country with constitutional guarantees to protect citizens of all faiths.
Our administration is committed to working with the United States government and the international community to deepen understanding and cooperation on protection of communities of all faiths.
BOLA AHMED TINUBU
PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

My kid sister Ochanya Ogbanje was allegedly raped to death in Benue 7 years ago by a lecturer at the Benue State Polytechnic, Mr Andrew Ogbuja, and his son Victor Ogbuja, but the son remains a fugitive ever since.
Over the weekend, Nigerians on social media renewed the call for "Justice for Ochnaya." She was only 13 years old. Power interests have been relentless in their their quest to pervert the course of justice in the matter.
Ochanya was just a girl. A child. She deserved care, not cruelty. Protection and not pain.
And until predators are punished and the system protects our girls, we’ll keep chanting her name, Justice for Ochanya! We owe her truth, we owe her change, we owe her justice.
#JusticeForOchanya
To Nigerian celebrities and public figures, hashtags are not enough please. Some of you know people in high places and positions that can make an impact in this case. Please call them, send a text, anything to draw their attention to Ochanya.
A little girl was abused to death!

If you think Ochanya cannot get justice in Nigeria look up #JusticeForKhloe
A 4 year old girl who was raped by their cook and the father got SAN to defend the cook. The mother was thrown out for fighting for her daughter. Nigerians rallied round. Nigerians were at the court many times protesting and the rapist was sentenced to jail!
Justice is possible. We just have to ask for it loudly without stopping
Ochanya would have been 20 years this year studying Medicine and Surgery to save lives but Winifred's Family deprived her that dream.
Their last born, Ihotu, same age with Ochanya is living that dream now.
This case was swept under the carpet in 2018 because Winifred's Father had taught some politicians' children and he used their influence to cover up the family's atrocities.
Don't ask me how I know this much. We are from the same state, the same local government.
Their village is just a stone-throw from my village. A small river separated the two villages.
The news is everywhere within the communities. The communities want justice too but they are helpless since they are not as influential as the Andrew's family.
As we keep protesting online, Mr. Andrew is also calling some notable politicians too.
If we relent, this case will still be swept under the carpet like it was in 2018.
If this case goes away without justice, do you know how many children of her age would go through the same process?
Injustice to one is injustice to all.
Yesterday, Ochanya was the victim of cruelty.
What about tomorrow? It could be you, it could be me, it could be our sisters, it could be our daughters.
Please add your voice.
Ochanya d!ed in a cruel manner. She deserves justice.

My heart is heavy. A young girl suffered unthinkable pain at the hands of those meant to protect her and lost her life because of it. We can’t stay silent. We can’t continue to hide behind family titles and tradition. She deserves justice. Every child deserves safety. 💔 #Justiceforochanya
Sometimes it feels like we’ve not achieved anything, simply because there’s still so much we want to do.
You’ve paid rent, but you’re thinking about how you haven’t built your house yet. You got a job, but you’re worried because it’s not paying in six figures. You finally finished NYSC, and now you feel behind because others are relocating or “blowing” on Instagram.
We think about these things so much that we forget to appreciate what we have.
Progress isn’t always fast or smooth. Sometimes it’s like Lagos traffic — go small, stop, move again. But you’ll still reach.
Appreciate how far you’ve come.
You sef dey try. Encourage your friends, tell them to KEEP GOING.
We’ll get there.
We often treat questions as placeholders for ignorance, but the opposite is even truer: the ability to observe and ask great questions means the mind has already begun the work of transformation. The answer, when it comes, is a reaction. The real leap had already happened.
Retrospective clarity isn’t on the same scale of value as original vision or ideation. People sometimes overestimate their ability to understand articulated ideas. While that is not easy for everyone, it’s not the same as thinking originally.
