Our crews are making strong progress on the 2026 phase of the St. Laurent Pipeline Replacement Project in Ottawa.

To date, more than 3.3 kilometres of 12-inch steel pipe has been installed, representing 60% of this year’s planned steel pipeline work. Crews have also completed 60% of the planned plastic pipeline installation, with more than one kilometre of plastic pipe now in place. That’s in addition to 20 new plastic natural gas service installations.

Every new section of this pipeline is part of a larger investment in the energy future of the National Capital Region. Once complete, the St. Laurent Pipeline Replacement Project will replace 14.4 kilometres of natural gas pipeline, helping ensure the continued safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to approximately 168,000 homes, businesses and institutions every day.

Our team at the Parkway West Compressor Station in Milton recently welcomed Milton Fire and Rescue Services for a facility tour and emergency preparedness discussion. The visit gave local firefighters an opportunity to become familiar with the site, its operations and the safety measures in place to support an effective response should an emergency occur.

During the tour, the team highlighted several of the station’s safety systems, including 11 dry-barrel fire hydrants located throughout the site. Firefighters also reviewed the station’s heat, smoke and flame detection systems, along with its CO₂ and foam-based fire suppression technologies.

The Parkway West Compressor Station is a critical part of the transmission system that helps move natural gas from the Dawn Hub to customers across the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec and the northeastern United States, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of energy every day.
