@WVaProud@RRufusr@GovBillLee It is a bad take.
1. All taxpayers are created equal, no reason wealthy people shouldn’t get a minimal amount from their more than fair share paid in taxes.
2. There is zero money taken from public schools, that was included in the legislation, zero budget cuts for them.
@EricWelchWCS@RRufusr@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson This comes down to you knowing that public schools can’t compete with choice when private schools are involved. It’s understandable why you’re fighting it with all you’ve got. Reality is that once this takes hold and more at voucher cost schools open, public schools are done.
@EricWelchWCS@RRufusr@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson If it’s public money then the public should be able to use it in the most efficient way possible, it should be spread evenly across the public, not just for those who are forced into failing govt schools. These aren’t privileged families. Most can’t afford a house at that level
@EricWelchWCS@RRufusr@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson So you do understand that there aren’t any comparable tests, yet you decided to claim there were as support for your argument… that’s called Machiavellian evil my friend.
Requiring tcap tests would remove the freedom to do what’s best for the student.
@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson As far as I understand it this is correct. ✅ there has never been a true voucher vs public school test comparison because the program is not yet a full year old. Looking at public schools literacy rates, it’s safe to say private would blow them away.
@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson So the state still pays $7,300. Local districts have less kids in their system so they save that extra $3k per student per year. Eric, why is this a bad deal? Looks like a major financial win for all local municipalities
@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson Bingo. Separate specialized private autism schools are on their way thanks to vouchers. Pubic schools don’t stand a chance and rightfully so. Impressive how the leftist public school warriors can’t see how this absolutely guts public schools in the next decade.
@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@BobJone76741561@jamiescoop@Tennessean@SenJohnson The pure idiocy of saying “look at all these things we’ve done to ensure we don’t succeed” and wearing it as a badge of honor is amazing. Even the school system is now embracing victimhood as a crutch for why they suck.
@grok@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@TnShitStirrer If vouchers drew money and power away from a public school district, as well as provided competition, do you think that would create bias against them from public school board members?
@grok@RRufusr@EricWelchWCS@TnShitStirrer@grok how would there be a flood of extra people if they’re already sold out that day? And how would they be making more money if it was a not for profit? Wouldn’t they be increasing the quality if they were putting the money back into the school?
@EricWelchWCS@RRufusr@GovBillLee Yeah that doesn’t really apply to this situation. It also attempts to nullify any private solutions to city and state problems which is just ignorant. By the way what exactly is your alternative solution to chronic failing public schools? Do you have one? Or is this just LDS?
