Okay, I'm going to do a native dump here. I grew up in Oregon... you don't need to make up a town and serial killer to make a horror movie about Oregon.

Ted Bundy dumped bodies in the woods and mountains, prior to his first arrest. The truth is we don't really know how many people he killed. His method of disposal was dump the body and let nature eat them, so he could have been the most prolific serial killer as far as we know.
