As a Jewish American of Ukrainian descent, I almost vomit every time Republicans like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene say that Ukraine is run by Nazis.
Let's get a few things straight here:
1) Ukraine is run by a Jewish man, who lost several of his uncles in the holocaust. His grandfather fought the Nazis in WWII. President Zelensky won an astounding 73% of the vote in 2019.
2) Yes, there are neo-nazis in Ukraine, just like there are neo-nazis in America, Russia, Canada and everywhere else in the world.
3) In Ukraine, just like most other nations, the neo-nazis make up the fringe, far-right political party(s). In the most recent 2019 Ukrainian election, only 2% of the popular vote supported this far right group, compared to the 73% that supported the Jewish Zelensky.
4) Only 1 member of the 450 member Ukrainian parliament represents the far-right Svoboda party that has some neo-nazi views. None of the other representatives support nazism in any form.
So if you are propagating the lie that America is helping fund Nazism or that Russia is "de-nazifying" Ukraine, you are spewing pure Russian propaganda and should be ashamed of yourself!
