#wk11 - the most interesting week for me. Constructive dissent has been engaging and eye-opening. After reflecting on previous workplaces, constructive dissent has rarely been witnessed. The power of positivity vs negativity should be adopted more in leadership. #b329
#wk9 was an important week that sits side by side with wk18 reflection. Collaboration can allow a person to achieve their goals and develop themselves as a leader. Having trust in others, sharing a common goal, sharing ideas and being open to new ways of thinking is vital. #B329
#wk18 The #B329leadershipchallenge has been a great experience. First time in OU studies I've found a group of students who worked well together to complete the challenge. We chose a particularly wicked issue and met weekly to discuss our progress. Brilliant experience #B329
@mpedrialeOUB329 Absolutely, in an ideal world the monitoring is a very useful tool. From analytics to cost management there are pros to it. However, more often than not, this monitoring is weaponised against employees. Amazon warehouses are a great example.
#wk16 The discussion around technology and precarious leadership is one that has resonated with me. Being in a job where technology was utilised to monitor performance I always felt as though there was an unnecessary amount of pressure being put on colleagues. #B329
#wk15 Resistance leadership appears to a topic that is becoming more prevalent with the reach that social media and technology has. What was of particular interest was the impact that an understanding of this leadership can have in promoting positive change #OUB329
#wk14 was an interesting yet challenging topic. The complexity of implicating appropriate leadership when taking into account varying geographical areas was difficult to get my head around. Collaboration between leaders to explore geographical issues seems key! #OUB329
@IMOcarwash Thank you for the reply. What is the practice for the disposal of plastic waste in the UK if you are unable to return the containers? Is the responsibility for disposal on the self employed individuals who operate the site?
Interesting, can you explain what processes you have in place for responding to the amount of plastic waste produced as a result of the chemical deliveries that occur at each site on a somewhat regular basis?
Did you know that one of our missions is to offer an eco-friendly alternative to professional car washing?
.
With 80% of our water being #recycled & our washes using #biodegradable chemicals, caring for the environment is definitely high on our agenda!

Wk 12 for #OUB329 was especially useful. Collaborative working is something I have always done and seen value in. However, viewing it as a positive-sum game has shown where the benefits lie and also the limitations that can be placed on people depending on the situation
Looking back at political leaders and even business leaders, there have been notable shorter term leaders who have arose during crisis. When the crisis has ended, public perception can change with a view to hold leaders accountable now that the crisis is over. @CaroleMyersMcr 2/2
Wk 3 #OUB329 has encouraged significant reflection on charismatic leaders and the risks that inherently follow. Whilst in the short term, charismatic leadership can inspire positive change in times of need, the potential for an increase in precarity for the individual is high 1/2
Daughter has been offered a house more suitable for disabled grandsonโฆare there any charities in Scotland that help with costs to move, or even buy paint etc? Hate asking but she is on UC and works but barely covers all outgoings. Any advice please?
@MarkB_329 @B329Leadership For me itโs a good coffee in the morning, a walk with a business podcast on then straight into whatever uni work I have the time for amongst my day. If my minds asleep, il procrastinate all day long ๐ตโ๐ซ
@MattterryOUB329 โI havenโt failed, Iโve just found 10,000 ways that didnโt workโ - Thomas Edison
Things like this I love when speaking about business
@MattterryOUB329 Personally, I struggle with being in a workplace where failure is a fear or something people can be deemed doing. Absolutely vital for a team Iโm in to feel empowered, innovative and ready to try anything with a view that they can learn from it for next time.
Spending this morning thinking about the points raised from the introductory tutorial by @Allanmooney yesterday for #OUB329. Encouraging to see other students enthusiasm and depth of knowledge! Going to be a fun year!
#OUB329 has officially started. Although after seeing everyoneโs learning already, Iโm glad itโs not just me that wanted to get stuck in and out the learning into action! Looking forward to learning from you all and bouncing ideas back and fore. #leadership
For anyone thatโs studying #OUB329, after looking at precarity in week two. Do you think there is any justification or way to make zero hour contracts work for the employees? I used to provide these contracts and Iโm interested in peoples thoughts
