The UAE exits OPEC and OPEC+.
A seismic shift for global oil markets. 🛢️🇦🇪
The news emerging from the Persian Gulf today is enough to make even the most seasoned market observers tremble, and for once, it is not directly related to kinetic warfare.
🧵
China has been concerned about the block of Strait of Malacca for decades. The concern of US Navy blocking the area to strangle China has been haunting multiple generations of Chinese leadership. If that is blocked, China will be cut off from Persian Gulf energy. Chinese leadership went to work on countermeasures since early 2000s to reduce the risk
China has implemented multi pronged strategy
1. Diplomatic: Enhance relationships with Malaysia and Indonesia, the 2 countries that controlled Strait of Malacca.
2. Military: Develop a blue ocean navy and long range missiles that can protect trade in the Strait of Malacca
3. Economic: Reduce reliance on import from Strait of Malaca. In energy, push for electricity and renewable based economy (PV, Nuclear, EV, etc) is to reduce reliance on crude oil imports through the Strait of Malacca
4. Infrastructure: China invested heavily to build alternative trade routes, from Gwadar port in Pakistan to rail and road infrastructure to all trading via different sea routes and land corridors
5. Alternative supply bases: China also build redundant supply base in getting food, minerals and energy from Russia, Central Asia and other places to reduce dependency
Iran conflict highlights the vulnerability of trade routes and the impact of any disruption. China’s decades long preparation pays off compares with other nations that are caught off guard.
The US blockade on Iran is part of a growing blockade on China.
The war on Iran is part of a larger war on China and multipolarism in general (which also includes Russia, and the Russian government has even admitted this).
This is why the US will NEVER agree to any genuine end to the war with Iran because it would mean an end of Washington's pursuit of global primacy in general which will NEVER happen until the world forces it to.
This was all obvious before the US even restarted bombing Iran in late February.
However the US will keep playing its games as long as ordinary people, analysts, diplomats, and foreign policy makers continue falling for them.

"It is obvious what’s happening. Sleeper cells have been activated all around the world to destroy petrochemical facilities. What’s extremely disturbing is governments silence on the matter. They know what’s going on, yet won’t name it."
It's really coming true: The US is creating and wants to exploit all global energy choke points. Remember, the US has been behind the bombing of the German-Russian gas pipeline Nordstream 2.
This is the "fair competition" and "level playing field" the US has always been demanding.
For months, the US/NATO have been targeting Russian oil and gas ships across the planet.
In the Caribbean.
In the Arctic.
In the Baltic.
In the Black Sea.
In the Mediterranean.
In the Indian Ocean.
All the way to Senegal, even.
The blockade on Iran is part of a larger strategy.
Iran implemented a simple, eminently fair rule: If you are waging a war of aggression against it, your ships will not be granted passage through its waters. The idea that the Strait of Hormuz was closed 'to the world’ does not stand up to scrutiny. Indeed, it seems that oil sales to China increased during the war.
Now, the Strait of Hormuz really has been closed — by the United States. Having failed to defeat Iran militarily, seize control of its energy infrastructure, and establish a bridgehead towards China, Washington is cutting China off from its oil supplies by way of military blockade.
The manoeuvres in Venezuela, Iran and Russia, the latter of which faced massive attacks on its oil infrastructure in recent weeks, appear to reflect a strategy of tightening the noose on the US’s principal adversary. The geography of these movements increasingly resembles proposals for a US naval blockade of oil to China; the map below is from a 2018 report on A Maritime Oil Blockade Against China published by the US War Naval College Review.
It is clear how the US’s global manoeuvres in the past few decades lead up to this moment. The destruction of Iraq, Syria and Libya softened regional opposition to US-Zionist encroachment. The proxy war in Ukraine bogged Russia down and pushed Europe into rearming and shouldering a greater part of the burden of maintaining imperialism. The assault on Venezuela has secured a supply of oil for the US in preparation for the fallout from the war on Iran. And the war on Iran has sought to remove the final obstacle to imperialism’s advance across the Eurasian ‘rimland' towards China.
In other words, as the clock runs out on US hegemony, Washington is accelerating preparations for the final show-down. The Islamic Republic's resistance has made very clear that this strategy cannot succeed. If the US could not defeat Iran, there is no chance that it can defeat a technologically- and numerically-superior force in China. But the stakes are existential, and imperialism will not give up so easily.
Iran will block enemy shipments while >
USA will block China shipments > USA is energy self-sufficient, shortages will affect the rest of the World.
WW3 is beginning on choke points >
- Panama Canal
- Suez Canal
- Strait of Hormuz
- Malacca Strait
- Northern Route (via Greenland)
And on the control of energy >
- Persian Gulf
- Venezuela
- Russian energy.
So no coincidence recent wars and frictions > Panama, Ukraine war, Venezuela oil take over, agression on Iran, provocations on Greenland.
Many focus too mulch on Israel, the bigger picture is CHINA.
Do not be fooled by the ceasefire in Iran.
In 90 days, the US have launched an energy blitzkrieg:
• Crippled Russia’s oil infrastructure 🇷🇺
• Disrupted 1/3 of China’s oil & LNG 🇨🇳
• Seized the planet’s largest oil fields 🇻🇪
• Seized Syria & Gaza's gas🛢️

Solo dev reverse-engineered Google's billion-dollar algorithm in 7 days
Google published the paper that crashed memory stocks worldwide. Then shipped zero code.
Tom Turney read the math, opened his terminal, and built the whole thing with Claude - then made it faster than Google promised.
Day 1-3: Core algorithms, 141 tests, Python prototype
Day 3-5: C port into llama.cpp, Metal GPU kernels
Day 5-7: Speed optimization from 739 to 2747 tok/s
That's a 3.7x speedup through pure engineering:
> fp32 → fp16 WHT
> half4 vectorized butterfly ops
> graph-side rotation
> block-32 storage layout
Then he added his own research on top:
> Sparse V: skip 90% of value decompressions at long context
> Asymmetric K/V: keep keys precise, compress values harder
> Temporal decay: old tokens get lower precision automatically
Result: 35B model running on a MacBook with 4.6x compressed cache.
