THREAD: Burundi is not okay. Let me paint you a picture of a country that’s been silently collapsing while the government plays pretend. If you think this is just about petrol shortages, think again. This is about a system that has fully imploded. Read on. #BurundiCrisis

In Burundi, fuel is life. No fuel = no transport = no economy = no future.
Today, petrol stations are dry. Every 3 days, SOPEBU (a company linked to the First Lady) publishes a fuel list.
A fake list. Only 5 stations actually get fuel — 5,000 liters each. #Burundi

Asylum Seekers in UK vs. Rwanda: In Which Country Are They More Likely to Be Physically Assaulted, Robbed, Insulted? Let the Data Speak
The UK Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down London's plan to send migrants to Rwanda on the basis that it was not a safe destination for asylum seekers. The Rwanda govt pushed back at the view that it was unsafe, and pointed to its “exemplary treatment of refugees”. UK PM Rishi Sunak has said his government was already working on a new treaty with Rwanda.
Back to the question of safety, where does it leave us? Decided to look at the data; assume you put an asylum seeker on the streets in the UK at the same time as you put another one in Rwanda. In which country is he/she likely to be robbed, physically assaulted, attacked, insulted, etc? Found some data here. Make your call.
