I like the analogy that likens URMs in STEM to inviting vegans to dinner. Inviting them isn't the point. You must have OPTIONS FOR THEM TOO. Otherwise inviting them is just plain rude.
That's what's happening now in tech, in academia, anywhere there is a diversity mission.
