BREAKING :#Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud delivered a televised address accusing Israel of “military expansionism” in the Horn of Africa, land-grabbing, genocide, and the displacement of Palestinians—calling @IsraeliPM Benjamin @netanyahu a “wanted fugitive.”

Hassan questioned the right of the Jewish state to exist at all, claiming the land belongs to “#Palestine,” and portrayed Israel as a “genocidal state,” a deliberate and calculated attempt to delegitimise it.

The speech came hours before a delegation of the Communist Party of China arrived in Mogadishu.
Hassan claimed Somalia, with Arab states and Turkey, will “drive Israel out of the HoA.”

The use of terrorism as a means to achieve political objectives remains an ugly and deeply entrenched reality that continues to prevail among the populace of war-torn Somalia.

34 years ago during Somalia's occupation on the Republic of Somaliland, around 150K of our civilian people were brutally massacred. Some of them were air-bombarded as they were fleeing to cross border to Ethiopia's refugee camps. Entire cities were reduced to rubble using indiscriminate shelling. All of these war crimes were carried out by the Barre military regime through its state-sponsored genocide. Today, the same criminals chant jihadist slogans to carry out terror attacks against the Republic of Somaliland. Tragically, this is the reality the people of Somaliland have been forced to endure for the past 65 years.

This time, however, the existence of the Republic of Somaliland stands as an effective barrier to prevent that history from repeating itself.

Let the world me hear out: the Republic of Somaliland and its people do not, under any circumstances or in any form, condone such an evil ideology. Their wild behaviour only serves as yet another hallmark of the stark contrast between the crumbled state of Somalia and the civil Republic of Somaliland.
