Got nasty back-to-back max loss days so will take it easy rest of the year, size down, take some profits off for taxes and to spend for family, then back at it for 2026!
Happy Holidays, and hoping everyone who reads this crushed it this year!
2024 has just been extreme for me. I seriously thought of quitting for good multiple times throughout the year. I was willing to do any strategy just to get a glimpse of hope that there is future for me in trading and at least keep the fire burning within.
Then in mid-September, everything started clicking. I gave scalping a real try — the only style I didn't think would fit me as I had the impression you need to have the fastest hands in the world with the most complex hotkeys and a lightning-fast internet connection. There truly is a lot of ways to make money in trading; I'm just grateful that I was sane enough to realize I wasn't making any money years and months prior and kept my size relatively small.
Since then,
✅ Got out of years-long drawdown
✅ Account in ATH
✅ Currently on a 37-day green streak
✅ All-green month milestone
✅ Almost tripled the account (+192%)
I know 2024 has been a great year for trading and I won't get too ahead of myself. Maybe this is just a "boom" cycle for me but I really doubt it — only time will tell. If I don't post another year-end PnL graph in 2025, you know what that means 🤣
Personally I leave like 1/3 trailing below bar lows but will keep taking half of position held the longer it doesn’t hit the trail or if there’s a relatively big green candle. One thing I keep in mind too is I trade POS stocks and there’s always a higher risk of dilution the longer I’m in it lol so I’ll keep playing my scalps is what I tell myself lol
Great observation! After multiple tickers traded past few days, I’ve noticed it too. What’s working for me is just keeping a smaller runner position left and trail as I know it’s hard for me to pivot back when market changed so trying to sacrifice optimal PnL for consistency through cycles. Keep killing it Snax!
Probably my first time riding a trade and held on to it as long as I can when it was supposed to just be a scalp. That initial squeeze right after the last entry was just absurd and felt like a lot of shorts probably got caught off guard. I unloaded most on the first squeeze and kept reducing. Crazy momentum. Apparently, it's not yet over 😅

@aRobotNamedSnax There ya go. I didn’t dare touch it when volume started to dry up. I had PTSD on this name last week Wed in PM. It just didn’t bounce and had to eat the big loss lol
