@Paddle39@joannaccherry@theSNP As in a ploy to show the electorate that our parliament (and right to self-determination) will get blocked by London at every step, and in the process increase support for indy. Ie, not moving it on a genuine belief it will work itself, but will increase indy support.
@joannaccherry@theSNP Fair comment. We will need to see the exact wording of the text suggested..if it can pass great. It will get challenged in courts regardless tho.
Pete is right. We haven’t had a group presence at their marches in some time, due in part to the attitudes of some of their organisers and the continued tolerance of groups like Sial N’an Gaidheal.
We will not win independence by rolling in the gutter. We’ll take the high road.
It's time for 'All Under One Banner' to finally lower the colours, go away and march off in to oblivion. They have embarrassed the movement too many times. Someone should have taken the Twitter account away from their hapless leadership a long time ago. ..
@KennyFarq@thetimes As a group of English people, in Scotland, many of who are also snp members, if we can pluck a helpful question from the vast gathering horde before us:
What the hell are you actually talking about?
Ffs Labour, Glasgow isn’t in England. Aye there’s a few of us English Scots around the place but seriously?
Happy St George’s Day to the bampots who put this drivel together..might we recommend a wee map?
Happy St. George’s Day* to all our members, fellow English Scots, the people of England and those of English descent around the world.
*No dragons were harmed in the making of this tweet.
Mental health slurs are not OK, but that man is not someone we’d be happy sharing a stage with. His position on English Scots is nothing short of vile. His views have no place in a civic nationalist movement, or in a welcoming Scotland.
We can only hope he reconsiders his views.
“It isn’t important where you come from, what matters is where we are going together as a nation” @HumzaYousaf voted in as the 6th First Minister of Scotland 🏴
Our group lost a member today to cancer; a committed campaigner, a good laugh, often controversial but always a good sport. Piers Doughty-Brown will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family and his many many friends in the indy movement. RIP Piers.
@TomtheBankie We were going to reply with a robust response around kindness, respect for the dead and about how we all have a duty to raise the debate.
But, that isn’t what Piers would have wanted. In light of that, our reply will be based on what he’d have said:
Get yourself tae fuck.
